Publisher's Summary

Watch out for the Assassin’s Claws...but be even more aware of the Ninja Bunnies!

Dan Moreno is a paid killer, just like his four brothers. It’s the family business - they fight together, they die together. Whether they’re working as a group or alone, they are a tight unit who protect their own. The only fly in their ointment? The neighboring Blythe brood of ninja bunnies who steal their jobs and show them up on the regular.

After years of in-fighting, the Moreno and Blythe families have found a tentative peace and mutual respect after working together to bring down a group intent on revealing the existence of shifters to the world. Mostly...except for the two opposing members who haven’t found a way to coexist. And the chances aren’t great that they ever will.

Twenty-three years ago, Dan scented his true mate in Gil Blythe. After irritating the sassy bunny beyond redemption, Dan had no choice but to walk away and ignore the other half of his soul. Until now. Forced together for one more joint mission, Gil and Dan’s secret is out and both of their families are calling them idiots.

Can two equally proud and stubborn men put the past behind them and give each other a second chance to finally forge a bond that will unite them for all time?

This fifth and final book in the Assassin’s Claws series is about 33k in length. Note: While every book in this series didn’t contain mpreg, this one makes up for it! This book contains a secret magic island, a council made of mythical creatures, and a birth scene that has to be seen to be believed. Get ready for naughty-knotty fun and low-ball humor as only Susi Hawke can provide.

The narrator was pretty good!

I adored the narrator for this book. Once again I loved the story but I still dislike how Dan was portrayed or how Gil basically pushed Dan away. But ninja bunnies!! Lol

Dan & Gil

Finally Dan and Gil get their HEA! It's incredible that these two are fated mates and have resisted one another for so many years over simple misunderstandings and miscommunications. I love their banter and their chemistry is absolutely explosive especially once they give in. Thanks to lots of help from both families. we finally get to see these two come together as mates and reach their well deserved HEA. The narrator did a spectacular job with the story and the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

I’m so happy we got this story about Dan and Gil. This series has been amazing, these listens are short and sweet—but also jammed pack full of action and desire-and laughs too! Zane Daniels does a great job with this narration, and susi wrote another keeper! I thoroughly enjoyed Dance Around.

Dan and Gil

Dan and Gil's story has quite a few moments where one or both of them don't know what to say and wind up screwing things up. I loved seeing both of these Assassin families finally come together. It took Dan and Gil 23 years to finally get things right and connect as true mates but I was so happy when they finally did. Zane Daniels does a great job narrating. I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review.

Dancing around

The title was very accurate for these characters with all the dancing around they did. It was so good but there were times I wanted to smack someone for what they did. But it was so worth the wait and I just want more of this world and these characters

This is the last of the series?! What a hangover!

Portuguese puma shifter assassin brothers? Now, that's just totally badass! In Susi Hawke's 'Dance Around, Assassin's Claws Book 5', we are party to the astonishing discovery that Gil Blythe, ninja bunny leader of the Blythe brood is Dan Moreno's, fated mate! Yes! That bunny brood that lives across the way and had been actively competing with the Moreno brothers for assassination gigs! Apparently, they've known for decades and had a major falling out about the roles and responsibilities of an omega--something Gil was DEFINITELY unhappy about! I hooted with laughter then sent the writer a personal Facebook message because the woman was trying to kill me with hysterics! I was sure of it! But the brood had proven more and more useful as the Moreno brother went about their assigned tasks throughout the series. Their sheer numbers make them powerful allies for fighting and for their social connections with other rabbit shifters worldwide. Thanks to Gil Blythe and his bunny brood, the Moreno brothers have been shown up on several occasions and have come to respect the brood in general and Gil in particular. Much to Dan's chagrin, the other brother cannot understand his willingness to stay separate and apart from the other half of his soul for twenty-three long years! An opportunity to witness the trial of the person leading the Open Eyes rebel group. Isaac is called upon to testify and Isaac wants Gil to be there for him, which affords Isaac and his mate Nash some measure of retribution. An unintended heat on the trip forces Gil to give Dan an 'opportunity' he'll never forget. And the series ends with the shifters secret protected and the villains destroyed. I totally love this delightful series of Susi Hawke. Not only did she provide her readers with the ability to check in with the couples from the previous books within the narrative of the current story. She also encouraged them to stay invested in the series as the overall threat that spans all the books is resolved in definitive stages within each individual story. It is beautifully concluded in the last book of the series. The writer's world-building is wonderful as ever and the character development is absolutely awesome both within the books and throughout the entire series. The book hangover is brutal, folks!

Communication is key

Dan and Gill are totally cute. I loved how stubborn both men are. They are a perfect example of how miscommunication can really screw up a relationship. While they both were frustrating at times with not wanting to or just really not listening to the other carefully, they proved that they did love each other. Listening to the families come together at the end was beautiful.

Second chances

Dan’s mouth got him in a whole heap of trouble. It was funny but frustrating watching Dan and Gil trying to work out their miscommunication.

Narrator was awesome!

Great series conclusion

Finally, our Romeo and Romeo tale comes to its conclusion with fortunately no deaths of either of the main romantic pair and the warring families reconciled. This reminds me somewhat of Fraught in Hawke's Alphabits series and Family Ties in her Family Novak series in all the best ways and if you enjoyed either of those, you will love this one too. We have two strong characters unwilling initially to bend in any way and form their inevitable bond. In working together to accomplish certain goals, however, they come to appreciate each other and get their HEA with their fated mate. I won't spoil any of the plot, just trust Susi Hawke as always and settle in for an action filled ride with a super hot romance. Zane Daniels gives a wonderful performance that highlights the stubbornness of these guys without making them unlikeable and when they do get together you totally understand it. He also brings all the heat!

Another great addition to the series by Susi Hawk, love the series. Dan and Gil where fun and interesting characters and they have an awesome journey to their HEA. Zane Daniels did a super job with the narration. Great pairing, author and narrator should be followed.

Adore this book

First of all, Gil is now my very favorite. Dan and Gil have ignored the mate bond between them for years until they don't. Dan has a very bad habit of not thinking of how things sounds which causes problems, so many problems. I absolutely adore Gil

Wonderful way to finish a series!

Out of everything written by Ms Hawke, this series is one of the most funny and interesting of all of them. Every book features a Moreno Brother getting their forever and believe me, each book is more fantastic, chaotic and hilarious than the previous one. Now, in this final book in the series, Gil and Dan' s story is an example of how miscommunication and misunderstandings combine with arrogance could be disastrous for fated mates. This book caused me stress and frustrated me so much that I couldn't stop reading until I knew everything was going to be fine. And, of course, until I knew more than I wanted to know about the ninja bunnies. Mr Daniels again was perfect reading this book, with his amazing acting skills, charismatic voice and agile management of the action. A perfect narration, a perfect book and the perfect way to end a series...Loved It!

Truly unforgettable

Gil and Dan honestly are the best couple in this series! From the sarcasm to an epic living room scene that one will never forget, this book truly has it all! Hawke left me in stitches from laughter and Daniels did a masterful job with his narration. A great book over all!

Last dance of the big bunny

This is the conclusion of a 5-book series, so it's best enjoyed after reading/listening to the previous books. Susi brings the rival clans together in a way that is highly satisfying. I started to suspect what is coming before the end of book 4. Gil is one fierce omega to keep his fated mate at bay. Dan keeps putting his foot in his mouth every time he tries to make up with or woo his feisty bunny. This is a fun conclusion to the series. Highly recommended for all lovers of shifters and fated mates. Pumas and bunnies...oh, my!
