What a great love story! I was hard most of the time hearing this book it’s a must read or hear! Not sure which of the two main leads was hotter !

Great books

I enjoyed that the books were not just romance but they also were detective mystery, and also some suspense.

Amazing

I absolutely love these books. They are an amazing read and have some realistic quality and of course a ton of action and adventure.

loved the books...not so much the narrator

I really loved these books. Locke and Key are the perfect partners on and off the force. however the narrator sounded like the voice over in a cheesy redramatized true crime show. It was seriously distracting.

love this series but

the narrator's portrayal of Southern twang is horrible. The main characters weren't too bad, but everyone else sounded like the chief on in the heat of the night, including the female side characters. It's like he picked one accent for all the side characters, except Rocky who has a really bad Northern accent, and stuck with it.

I highly recommend the Kindle version but will not be listening to any other books on audible by this narrator.

Good books

Pretty well written, engaging characters. But I will never understand why someone thought it was a good idea to have Troy McClure narrate!

I couldn’t listen to the last two books

These might have been good stories. The author did a good job with police procedure and some character development. I just could not listen to another minute. Finished the first book because, well, I don’t like to not finish a book. But the narrator was just, ugh. Couldn’t keep the character voices straight, the emotion displayed was ridiculously flat or over the top cheesy. Just don’t.

Great series

Oh wow. These two were fabulous. The give and take between these two was well written. The way they started out with becoming partners in the police department. Misjudging each other attitudes and the angry baggage they Carrie’s around. They had to work very hard through out the stories to get to the level of love they developed for each other.

I am unreasonably angry --vague spoilers

Review for Book 2: Being in a relationship with someone who outranks you might be complicated, right? Well here is the prime example- what fcking partner, romantic or otherwise, would run into a dangerous situation alone after hanging up on the other with MINIMAL communication and expect them to just LISTEN to their "orders"?? Really? Are we really blaming Sawyer for something that happened because he's a loyal half of one whole who received almost zero communication? Screw Locke. Screw that "See this is what happens when you don't follow my orders" bs. I blame him and I am still angry. I'm glad Sawyer told him his orders were stupid but I can't stand Locke thinking he was right. I liked this book until that. Now it's... good but rage inducing for no good reason. I can't believe I'm this mad about a gay novel.

Facile story, frustrating plot

Got this because it was a three book set for one credit and I've listened to Tristan James narrate many other books so I know I like his style. Despite him trying his best this was awful.
The characters are one dimensional, the plot is simply childish, around every corner is a supermodel or handsome barista. I gave up when the second murder case was solved in two chapters.
If you want M/M romance with good complex character development and some really good crime sleuthing I recommend Gregory Ashe's books, also read by Tristan James.

Great series!

I really enjoyed this series. I loved the way the books combined murder mysteries and romance. The books didn't just focus on the romance while briefly mentioning the murders in each book. The books gave each aspect equal weight. I could easily see the characters in future books, each book covering their personal and professional lives with a new murder to solve. The narrator was very good. He had a distinct voice and accent for each character. I usually could tell which character was speaking.

Decent listening

The narration is spot on. The story process at an even pace and one doesn’t feel lost between the numerous characters this narrator had to perform. Over all a good trilogy to pass the time over coffee and relaxing

Loved this series

I started with Sinister in Savannah which is sort of in the middle. I had not realised that the story world started with Locke and Key back in this series. No matter, because it was great to hear this story build the world that leads to the Sinister in Savannah world, and of course introduces the main characters there.
I loved the pace of these stories and just looked forward each day to see what was going to happen next. The focus on the characters beyond the crimes that they are investigating is what endears these stories to me the most. Locke and Key are fantastic characters and I love their emerging relationship alongside their work as detectives.
I am moving onto the next set of Locke and Key books which take place after Sinister in Savannah, and am looking forward to following them on the next part of their journey.
Highly recommended!!!

Pacing of narration is irritating.

Love the author, but inclined to get bogged down in minutiae at times. Sorry, but the narrator came very close to making this a ‘did not finish’ for me. Some of the voices are annoying but it was his pacing that was really strange. Unusual emphasis on words in sentences …. Not at all how normal conversation happens. It’s irritating. If you are narrating conversation, then pace and emphasis need to fit that!

Thrilling!

So much wit, so many thrills and a few good mysteries thrown in and you have one hell of a trilogy!!

I love Royce and Sawyer and enjoyed their "enemies" to lovers arc in book 1. Embracing their feelings in Book 2 and strengthening their connection in book 3. I love that Royce pretty much faced his feelings quickly and honestly. There was no silly denial or embrassed back and forth. Once he admitted he wanted Sawyer he was all in and they were honest and talked to each other, which so many characters don't.

There are some heavy themes in each of these books as well as murders and mysteries to solve but Aimee was honest, empathetic and caring in her words throughout these stories and while there is sadness, anger and a little rage at some injustices these stories caught me hook line and sinker and I could barely put this collection down!!

I look forward to more of Locke, Key and the whole gang!!

great box set - worth the credit

I've spent the last week listening to all audios in this series after it came to my attention all 3 were bundled together for the 1 credit on Audible (Bargain!). Having previously read the first 2 in the series, I decided a refresh was needed before listening to Zero Divergence.

Zero Divergence is my fav of the series. Locke & Key's relationship has progressed steadily across the 3 books, Royce is more confident with his relationship with Sawyer and they are SO GOOD together! Enjoyed the mystery/suspense in this instalment, but I would have really loved an epilogue that gives a glimpse into the future for them.

Tristan James is the narrator of the series, he's on my fav list so naturally I enjoyed his performances across all 3 books.
