This regiment made up the core of the 6th Panzer-Division, one of Hitler's top armored formations, which was involved in most of the major campaigns on the Eastern Front; campaigns such as Operation Barbarossa and Operation Winter Storm.

Excellent
The random details contribute to the believability of these interviews. I was struck by the way these guys focused on a narrow purpose for what they were fighting for. The higher up their view, the more complex and nuanced. However, with the perspective of looking back, they always conclude with their duty and personal innocence. I think that is how most soldiers are with the exception of the criminals
