Scars and Second Chances

This book tugged at heartstrings, tore tears from my eyes, and brought me to points where I wasnt sure I wanted to know what happened at the end. Matty made me so frustrated and irritated and sometimes his thought process made me want to scream. His story was so heartbreaking though. Xeds love and final acceptance of Matty's wrongs wasnt instant and I loved that there wasn't automatic forgiveness. And... when Xed tried to build back the bridge between them... I couldn't stop fricken laughing. Chicken was the star of the last few chapters. Well thought out plot, twists and turns, ups and downs, and awesome character building. This group of misfits stole my heart.

Matty And Xed Are Beautiful 😍

I am so glad that after a long, tortured, rocky road of a journey Xed and Matty finally found their way to each other. I found Matty adorable in that he sometimes cried after sex - I'm only sorry it was wasted with Valerie in their younger years. "Crossing Arizona" is a beautiful story and I enjoyed it more with the performances of Jack Wesley and Nathaniel Ames - both I've never come across until now. I will be sure to look out for more of their work. Can't wait for Logan and Salem's book next! Holy crap that bombshell at the end of Logan's epilogue is still reverberating in my mind.

ok, but, why is this book over already??? Again, this was an intense emotional journey. Matty and Xed are the definition of childhood friends to lovers. yes, there is turmoil but when you get to the why behind it....ugh!!
The hard earned happy ending was EVERYTHING! These two deserve it and I was with them every step of the way. I laughed. I cried. I fell more in love with this group of people that I did in book 1.
the narrators did amazing. they fit these two men so well. They made me feel it. I was there and so so badly did I want to reach out and hug these two characters.
