This recording is based on the book by Eleanor H. Porter, originally published in 1913. It is a charming, albeit old-fashioned, classic, but one that still has a lot to offer. Her introduction offers a short history of Pollyanna, some insight into audiobook narration, and introduces the listener to life in New England in 1913, adding depth to one's appreciation of Porter's fiction.

They were off to college and wanted "Cloudy Jewel", their childhood nickname for Julia, to come and be their mother and chaperone. This book made me very very GLAD
When I listened to Pollyanna I got so weight free and light. So relieved 😌 to learn how to live better and not be bothered by people who don't want to be happy and be kind to others, and just live and be glad........
