This is excellent. We start off with "a day in the life of a detective" which is very funny. The author really trots out her writing talent.
Then we get to the business of hunting for a murderer. All is as expected to police procedural work. And, a mystery guest from
Jack's past is assigned to assist the team and, oh- the humor continues as she outrageously,
rocks the statis quo.
Just when it seems we're.done.... some new twist leaps out and we"re off.
A very, very good addition to JD Kirk's
series with these folks.

The crime is gruesome and troublesome, but of course they solve it. But the humor was delightful, I laughed out loud so much you would have thought I was listening to a comedy! Well written and full of twists. And the characters are so convincingly real! And I really enjoy Angus King's narration, I love the accent!

Please keep writing JD Kirk!

This book is so good! It was a great compliment to the series and left me wanting more.

One of the best in the series!

Chock full of laughs and awesome characters, this installment kept me engaged throughout. The underlying story kept me guessing and Jack and the gang never fail to entertain. Bring on #14!

I LOVE this crew!

Kirk has created all these delightful characters and Angus King uses his huge gift and range to bring them to life. Unlike many male narrators, he does women just as deftly as men. I am saving this whole series as favorites to “read” again. It is a rare treat to laugh out loud in the middle of a murder mystery. Keep them coming PLEASE!

Hidden gem, ladies and gentlemen hidden freaking gem. I’ve never been disappointed Angus King is also an amazing narrator. It’s a double threat kind of thing.

I really enjoyed the unfolding of the investigation and loved the interactions between the main characters. It’s intense, often funny, enlightening. It’s the 14th in a row for me and still not tired of the series! The narrator is absolutely fantastic too!

Angus King and JD Kirk are thoroughly entertaining as always. I hope neither one ever gets bored of doing this series.

A good book with laugh out loud Moments

If you read the previous books some of the things that happen in the writing will make you laugh out loud of course there's a usual grim topic of murder and even serial murder with some of the characters have been developed so well by the author that some of the interaction between them and other characters cauyesterday's cause me to just break up laughing. One can appreciate the fact that the author writes this way so you really get to know the personality of the characters. I would read some of the other books before the center will even give you a deeper appreciation for the author
