Great start to this series!

The first three books in this series for one credit is a very good deal. I ended up hooked, and ended up listening to all 14 books. All of them are good. I highly recommend this series. Great narrator as well. He's perfect for this series.

Clever stories and good characters

The stories and the characters were all very interesting. One thing lacking in them was the sense of a team. It seems that there was almost no one on the team except for the three main cops, which I find hard to believe in a big murder case. This almost harks back to the lone detective, a private eye, tempted by the swell dames around him- in a more British way, of course. Obviously, I don’t know anything about how murder really works on a police force myself, but I am used to reading books that give more details about Police procedure, such as tensions with the head, interactions with SoCo, and the coroner, etc. There was one scene where Eric hadn’t slept in days and yet was still assigned to watch a suspect that I found completely unbelievable. Didn’t they have anyone else they could use for trailing someone?? Where were the team meetings where the plan of action was laid out? It all felt very spur of the moment and run by some invisible force, almost as if they were the only three people in the whole region who could help solve these crimes. I enjoyed all of the characters and the stories, but I’m not sure if I’ll keep reading. Hopefully the books will become a little more realistic, moving forward. That said, 20 bucks for three books was a great deal, as my Hoopla has all of the series in German for some reason, but not in English. And the narrator was very competent. I recommend, but not as a five-star read. Let’s just say: a promising beginning!

Good story and a good reader

I think these are along the lines of cozy murder mysteries, which is fine with me! I would read more by this author.
