I LOVED THUS BOOK AND THE NARRATMION

it had been a while since I'd listened to a DCI Jack Logan novels, by authir JD KIRK. I'd been through quite a few other novels on AUDIBLE. When I first heard the opening of Rock and a Harplace, and it's narration by ANGUS KING, it felt like coming home again, as I Slipped comfortably in to the familiar voices of the beloved characters. Kirk plus King brought home the sausages!! Most welcomed were the moments of "Tyler hunor", bringing laughter, even from my husband overhearing a few scenes. Kirk's descriptions of the Highland's background and people, Logan's haunting nightmares, and even Taghet's goofy tongue protruding from his mouth were spot on, drawing the listener in to the developing story line. I realized how much I'd missed diving in to a KIRK-KING presentation. I would never have identified the killer from the many potential suspects Kirk revealed for the reader. He had me fooled almost to the end. Kirk's portrayal of human frailty and the common nature of our mistakes as a theme in this novel hit home. I loved this addition of the DCI JACK LOGAN series. Thanks to both author and narrator for providing an opportunity to get lost in the characters and the story. I really needed that at this time in my life!!

Worth a Listen

I think I’d have enjoyed this book better if it was a 10 hour listen rather than 11 hours. A full hour of Jack’s misgivings, doubts, and fears could have been cut, and the point would have still been obvious.

Other than that, it was a great story, with great narration.

Loved every minute!

JD Kirk is my favorite author and Angus King is my favorite narrator. Jack Logan and his crew are among my favorite characters. Bob Hoon and his sister are two more of my favorites. Please keep writing the adventures of these beloved characters, I look forward to every book!

Character development is always very strong

I hated to see Jack struggling, but that’s what happens in real life. The story is interesting, well written & the characters are rich. I always enjoy Angus King as a narrator, he is so talented.

This one has to be up in my top 3 DCI Jack Logan books. I recently lost my mother in law. Many days of tears...then I reached the part where Tyler and friends encounter a deer. I laughed so hard at Angus' narration that I listened to it 3 times. I don't know how I will be able to wait for another Logan book!

Finally

I know JD has more going on than just this series, but it's been too long since we last heard from Jack and crew. The only complaint I have is there isn't enough Hoon.

If you love DCI Logan series you will LOVE this one. Logan is back, or is he?

Worth the wait

The narrator is very important to me. The voices of these characters that Angus King has created take a marvelous story to another level. Every one of them fits the character completely. Meanwhile, he’s fitted in an engaging murder mystery with plenty of twist and turns to keep me listening far too late into the night. I love this crew and hope JD Kirk finds a way to keep them together for many more episodes.

He’s Back!

I love that Jack Logan and team are back. As always a great plot with lots of twists.
