Good Story & Narration

Good characters and plot. Ian didn’t realize how deep his feelings for Kat until he had to protect her. Of which Kat is in a lot of trouble now. Nice enjoyable story to listen to. Given ARC audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Fantastic story

Great suspenseful listen. Twists that I didn’t see coming, sweet romance, and plenty of laughs made this a great choice that will be going on my listen on repeat list. I loved getting to know Ian and Kat. Narrator did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. Simple

This story has a simple plot with an easy to follow story. But sometimes that is exactly what I want. It was easy to listen to. Enjoyable.

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed this audio book. There isn’t strong violence or profanity. It’s a good solid story with decent narration. I wish it was a series.

Cops and Robbers Lite . . .

This book struck me as one with a great potential story, but it seemed a little too softened down in as far as the edginess one would expect from the characters in the mob and detectives that pursue them. Although the hardness that a story such as this would likely have really had, this made for a lighter listen to what is typically a tougher subject. The narration was fairly solid, however it seemed to me that the youthfulness of the lead character didn't seem to show through in the voice. Perhaps a little more exuberance would have made Kat's voices become more age accurate?

I'd recommend this listen to those that like their crime and suspense mixed with some romance. Certainly not for the hardcore mob vs cops vs public crowd. Interesting plot

Would you listen to Chicago's Best again? Why?

Maybe, I think its good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not sure they all have something to offer.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I liked how clearly the male and female voices were done, but I didn't like how paced the reading was in places.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I had not known what to expect when I started reading this book, and it took me a few chapters to get into it. The mystery is amazing and the plot is smooth. I love all the personalities and the ending is really good.

Good easy listen

A good thriller - calling it "lighthearted" is very accurate. Keeps you engaged and interested without being gory/violent. Good amount of spice to the sexiness between the two lead characters.

This audiobook got to be very interesting and ended in an exciting climax. Ian is a true hero and Kat is a strong woman whose strength gets her into trouble.

Good Romantic Thriller

With lots of thrills, romance and suspense, I really enjoyed this story. Kat was definitely one tough cookie and I love strong female characters. I also liked her softer side and her habit of taking in strays, be they cats or people. Ian was obviously smitten, even though he tried to keep things professional. It was sweet that he helped Kat bake in her cafe when he was protecting her. The narration was pretty good and held my interest throughout. I would recommend Chicago's Best.
