Publisher's summary

Looking for a unique paranormal cozy mystery series that's lighthearted and fun?

Settle into the cozy countryside of Moss Hill, where house-elves rent rooms, sprites live in gardens, a leprechaun is the best tailor in town, and a half elf, half human named Carissa Shea owns a pharmacy known as The Seelie Tree Apothecary shop. Life couldn't be more idyllic for Cari, but healing humans and fae folk proves challenging at times, especially when secrets unfold in The Faerie Apothecary Mysteries.

About Chaos in the Countryside:

The quiet town of Moss Hill would be in trouble if not for one daring nature faerie: a sprite known as Chaos. Though she is little, she is...fierce isn't the right word. Spirited is more accurate. She's traveled far and wide to warn the half-human, half-elf Carissa Shae about a danger that's coming to the countryside. Carissa's Seelie Tree Apothecary shop is no stranger to faeries, but with this new arrival, its owner, and Moss Hill, will never be the same. Is this cozy town ready for a little Chaos?

An intriguing combination of mythos and mystery!

As a prequel novella to a series, I must say I'm curious and excited to read more. The story was extremely engaging, weaving British myth and legend into a modern fairy mystery, and I greatly enjoyed learning vicariously about some of the legendary creatures of that mythos. I feel that an appendix of some kind or glossary of the various terms would help to clarify some things, especially in an audiobook where the listener can't know the spelling of a word to research further. The narrator was sublime. Her accents were natural and unforced and her narrative pace was perfect for both the ambiance of the story and ease of listening.

Great prequel

This is an entertaining, short, cozy mystery that has made me curious to listen to the full series. A small town where the human inhabitants live in relative harmony with Fairies, Fae, Elves etc but trouble is brewing on the horizon and a small nature sprite and a half elf maybe the key to stopping it. This story has well defined characters that you can’t help but like and a plot that capture the imagination and makes you want to hear more. The narration was excellent, the accents and the individual voices she gave the characters fit the characters well and really enhanced the story. This was a fast paced, fun prequel and I will look forward to hearing the first book in the series.

A delightful new fairy tale.

Chaos in the Countryside is a delightful tale of fairies among us. It is a perfectly enchanting novella for children and adults who wonder about the fairy legends. I look forward to Astoria Wright’s succeeding novels. Elizabeth Klett’s narration is fun and, as always, well done. She brings the story to life. I highly recommend Chaos in the Countryside for anyone looking for a little magic and mystery in their lives.
