Publisher's Summary

"There is just the right mix of drama, danger, and sex to keep the listener riveted until the end." (Michelle Mollohan for Readers' Favorite)

Calen is a good man from a bad family, but when the girl of his dreams falls in his lap can he do the right thing and let her go?

Calen is the son of an Irish mobster, but he’s rejected his legacy and has made a name for himself as a club owner. After years of hard work, he has the life he’s always wanted. Almost.

Then his father asks him to take a meeting with a rival crew. It’s too important to say no. Reluctantly, he drives out to the middle of nowhere to meet them. There to negotiate for reparations, he sees an innocent girl being held against her will - someone who looks very familiar.

Unwilling to leave the girl to a fate worse than death, he demands she be included as part of the deal. Maia is forced to stay with Calen for her safety, but she soon finds out he has ulterior motives for protecting her....

All around perfection

A totally awesome story with minimal relationship drama which I greatly appreciated; typically authors add extra relationship uncertainties and insecurities unnecessarily but this one surprised me. The deep and unwavering affection Calen had was refreshing and Maia's willingness to go along with little internal struggle made the story flow easily.

The narrator did an amazing job with the character voices and didn't rush through any portion. Even the sexy time groans were authentic and hot.

I'll definitely look for more audiobooks from both author and narrator.

Great story

Great addition to this standalone series. I love this authors writing style and the narrator for this one was so much better than the one from the first book.

Mafia + Fairy

Calen's Captive (a singular obsession, book 2) is my favourite book in this series. I absolutely love Calen and Maia is so adorable. Listening to this audio on repeat as I could listen to Calen's character all day long. Mafia romance with suspense seeping through the pages. Calen & Maia were perfect together and my favourite couple in this series. The writing style is captivating & the narrative is intoxicating.

Narator Avie Page's performance was smooth. Her inflection had sensual elements in the right places.

Overall, a beautiful mafia romance that is addictive to listen to.

Very Good!!

Calen's Captive, the second book in the Singular Obsession, is an excellent mafia romance, with suspense and drama. Lucy Leroux's writing was precise, with a great plot and character development. The main characters, Calen and Maia, are great together, despite being the opposite of each other. Maia is sweet and innocent, and Calen is a charming and possessive alpha. I especially liked the dominance and submission elements. I was satisfied with the narration; Avie Paige did a good job. Overall, I enjoyed Calen's Captive, and I recommend it.

I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

I’ll be Calen’s Captive!

2nd read:
Re-read through audible. I have another narrator to add to my list of favorites! 5 stars for Avie Paige’s narration of Calen’s Captive.

1st read:
OK, can I be Calen's Captive? If I could jump into the pages of this story, I would gladly take Maia's place. Lucy Leroux's Alpha's are delicious! She writes the perfect balance of dominant, possessive, charming men who know how to take care of their woman.

Calen, being the son of an Irish mob boss is just bad enough, but keeps himself out of the family business to stay legal. The one time he has to step in and help his father, he is in time to rescue Maia from the Russian mob. It just so happens that he was already looking for his woodland fairy after briefly seeing her in his night club and lost her before he could approach. The only way to protect Maia is to marry her and fill her up with babies as soon as possible.

I loved it and let me tell you, there were a few role playing scenes that were smokin hot!!! I'm very curious about Maia's friend Thalia since there were hints in the story that makes me think she will get her own story and hints of another couple as well.
