Publisher's Summary

Set yourself up for life as early as possible and enjoy life on your terms!

Are you tied to a nine-to-five workweek? Do you work hard making someone else rich? Are you financially free - the sort of free that ensures you spend the best part of your day and week, and the best years of your life, doing what you want? Would you like to retire from wage-paying work within 10 years? Why not build and follow a plan that allows you to live the life of your dreams?

This isn't about saving up a nest egg. It's not about setting aside money for a "rainy day" or just accumulating an emergency fund. It's about building out a Financial Runway. It's about creating enough readily accessible wealth that you can survive without work for a year. Then five years. Then for life. Set for Life is a three-step guide that gives listeners the fiscal confidence they need to achieve early financial freedom. Listeners will learn how to:

  • Save more income - 50+ percent of it, while still having fun
  • Double or triple your income in three to five years
  • Secure "real" assets and avoid "false" ones that destroy wealth

Here's to fiscal confidence, here's to giving up a nine-to-five job, and here's to being set for life!

    "great step-by-step guide"

Kiyosaki-mindset with a how-to guide for someone who doesn't know where to start. Great for someone starting out in life, but still applicable, no matter where you find yourself.

    "Take that, Robert Kiyosaki. Amazing!!!!!!!"

Trench knocks it out of the park!! This is an amazing book . This is a step-by-step how to book. He uses very easy, very understandable examples for anyone to copy. Trench uses great real world examples and lays out a perfect path for anyone to obtain. I knew when I finished it, the next thing I was going to do was listen again. Josh Dorkin how lucky can you get? You get Brandon Turners great books, But this is what everyone's been begging for. This book has the ability to change your life if you even take a small part of Scott Trench's great road map!

    Six stars!

    "Set for American life"

This book is mainly geared for the average American office worker with little or no understanding of personal finance. However the book have some main good points and will set the foundation for anybody interested in improve its personal finances. The best key points I like from the book are: focus on lower your mayor fixed expenses (housing), clean up any bad debt before you start to invest or acquire any good debt. Understand what your goals are. Review your net worth regularly. Understand how you are spending your time and how that will impact your finances in the long term. Understand how leverage can accelerate you to faster reach financial freedom. I think the best advice from the book is about the false idea / trap of stock picking as a way to reach financial freedom which I think many investor experience over a lifetime. The bad thing with the book is that it is heavy geared towards American people/context and based on the authors own experience and circumstances. Example of a strange advice given in the book: "if you cannot house hack the move to another city where you can". Should both me and my wife quit our jobs, move to another country/city just so that we can house hack ? just becomes house hacking was working for the author does not mean it will work for all.

    "Not worth it"

Couldn't make it pass the first few chapters. If you have any financial acumen at all it's not worth your time.

    "loaded with info"

Great book for those who haven't figured out how to save and invest. If you're already living a frugal lifestyle, you won't learn much here. if you're investing and having some success you won't learn much here. However, there are some great tid bits of info in this book. I found the book to be very "matter of fact" and all business. Perhaps if it were more anecdotal it would be easier to follow and more enjoyable. If you need some guidance on how to become frugal and start investing, I would definitely recommend this book.
