Publisher's summary

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

Classic forbidden crush of best friend’s sister/ brother’s best friend scenario. They both fight the attraction — Barrett (the male lead) claiming he’s loyal to the “bro code” but fail miserably. Enter some steamy 🔥🔥🔥 scenes and secrets that threaten to rip their new found relationship to pieces. -
I read and listened. I love that the narrators alternate in each chapter (the female narrator is not reading the male parts and vice versa despite whose chapter it is). Super fun stand-alone!

Duet for the Win!

Kendall Ryan just needs to take my money... all of it! Every book I read, or listen to, I think is my favourite, and every time I’m proved wrong. Her writing is so captivating that I end up lost in the story, whether I want to be or not. Bro Code was no different, I loved the idea of this story and thought I’d enjoy it, but, it was so much more than I thought it would be. The twists had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next to bring everything together.

These characters are so cute. I just adored Ava’s parents, they were so sweet and funny. I liked Nick, maybe he needs a story next.
Barrett Wilson is a charmer for sure. He was sweet, and sexy. He also drove me half insane with his bro code excuse - my god, man! I may have thought about slapping him upside the head on more than one occasion. Ava is just awesome. I loved her character so much. She was committed and determined no matter what others said, I loved that about her. The love she had for the factory and the workers was commendable and made her such a strong character and I loved that.

The relationship between Ava and Barrett was so cute. I loved their interactions. It was fun, since they’d known each other a long time, and lusted after each other for almost as long, seeing that finally come to fruition and them not be able to resist, it was the sweetest thing. The sex scenes were smoking hot and fit this couple and their story perfectly.

I usually love Ava Erickson and Jacob Morgan’s performances, they’re fantastic. And they’re both brilliant when performing a dual narration, however, as a duet performance? OMG! Just take my money and give me more! Amazing! Having already read the book I can safely say that they brought this story to life and gave it a whole new feel that I didn’t get from just reading it. They always seem to have the perfect tone for each character they perform that it captivates the listener and they get lost in the performance, this book is no different in that aspect, but having Ava perform the female and Jacob the male parts just worked so perfectly. Is it too soon to sign a petition for more duets?
The production was fine with no issues that I noted.

In true honest fashion, and I know I’ve gushed about this book, there was one line that I didn’t like, that frustrated me a bit, it’s nothing major, personal taste and all that. But, since I’m still thinking about it, I’m mentioning it. Because, you can absolutely love a book, and still not like every aspect of it. That’s the joy of reading, right?

So Good!

Loved these narrators together! I really enjoyed the style of dual narration they did in this one, I wish they did it more often. I loved this one, short and sweet, very easy read with little drama just an all around feel good story.

This a will listen to over and over.....

Bro Code far outweighed my expectations a love that grows from friendship is the best. The narration in duet form was absolutely done to perfection I would love to listen to more books done in the same way.

Could not be any cuter!!

What an adorable story!!! I really liked Barrett... even if I wanted to throat punch him once or twice for this underhandedness! However, he totally had some redeeming qualities. I can’t handle cucumbers without giggling a little and running scared! This was definitely a light-hearted read that I plowed through.

These narrators are killer together! Ava Erickson has this really soft and feminine voice that just immediately comforts. She could read to ma all day long. Ava has this way of portraying her feelings right through her voice. She also took the sexy scenes to new heights!! Jacob Morgan also has an incredible voice. He could just talk all day to me. His voice isn’t quite as expressive but it felt right for a man’s voice. They aren’t quite as emotional outwardly as females. Doesn’t matter.... he oozes sex appeal! Sign me up for more books by Mr. Morgan!

loved the build up

Kendall Ryan is a rock star- She writes with the perfect amount of heat, sass and sexual tension. I love the burning build up she manages to pack into her stories. It makes you really feel the chemistry while the characters are sizzling the pages away.

Ava and Jacob were beyond fantastic. I loved their performance and would hands down listen to anything else with their names on it no questions asked. They not only brought the characters to life but had some of the most audibly pleasing voices i have ever heard. An absolute pleasure to listen to.

Loved every second of it!

I've Got Nothing But Love For This Book!

WOO!
LOVED the " duet " narration! Can we have more of those, please?
Heartfelt, with a connection that I swear you could not only hear but feel, this sweet, and sexy heart squeeze romance is one that I could not stop listening to throughout my day!
Such strong, stubborn characters, with family values, and that blessed " bro code " ( had I been her, I might have smacked him upside the head after the 5th time he said that) I had to know how these two magnetic personalities, as well as the family, was going to make out in the end!
A sensational story, full of all the feels, spot on narration, a perfect way to spend my day!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this one!!

Believability Issues

I listened to a few Kendall Ryan books this week. I found this one to be the weakest so far. Twenty-five year old woman takes over father's company and within a few short months it fails, and she blames herself entirely. Yet, while her dad is recovering from a heart attack but seems to have full mental capacity, she never delicately consults him for advice? Clearly, the failure was an impending event whether or not she was running the place. Plus, come on, a 25 year old running a factory? A bit of a spoiler...Add on the utter absolute ridiculousness of her male interest somehow representing the evil firm trying to buy the factory and keeping it a secret from everyone. Pfft. Too ridiculous for me. Lastly, too much of a big deal was made out of this "bro code' where apparently even though he was much loved by the family, he wasn't allowed to have interest in the daughter/sister. What family has that stupid rule? Families I know would be delighted if someone they already loved and accepted showed an interest in their daughter/sister. I like other Ryan books better than this one because she focuses more on the relationship and doesn't try to build the story around topics she clearly doesn't know a lot about.

Great example of Duet Narration!

I've listened to a handful of duet narration and they have been good/ok, however, this one is showcases duet narration done right! The story was a fun listen! I enjoyed that Ava & Barrett were friends and that it wasn't an "insta-love". I will say that the whole "I can't be with her because she's my bff's sister/I can't be with him because he is my brother's bff" got a tad bit 'old' as it was repeated often though out the book..... as if the reader needed a reminder, several times over.

There was lots of great conversations/banter and the main characters have great chemistry. Some moments were very sweet and yes, there are plenty of sexy moments too! There are lots of fun family moments and you can see there is a great dynamic between them all.

As with any romance, there has to be a conflict/obstacle for the main characters to overcome. In this case, the "bro code" isn't the only one. Not going to provide spoilers, however, I did wish that there was a bit more groveling done and not as quick to forgive.

Narrators Review:

Love narrator Jacob Morgan and though I've never listened to Ava Erickson before, I will now! Their performance was superb and listeners will love them!

Overall This was a really good listen and if you have never listened to a duet narration, this is one of the ones I'd recommend you start with.
