The Expeditionary Force saga continues with Breakaway, the eagerly awaited sequel to number-one Audible-ranked and New York Times best-selling Brushfire, from an epic sci-fi writer at the top of his game. Join the millions of listeners who have enjoyed R.C. Bray’s hilarious portrayal of Joe, Skippy, The Merry Band of Pirates, and so many other unforgettable characters.

The Merry Band of Pirates offered the bad guys a ceasefire. We won’t mess with them, if they don’t mess with us. Easy, right?

No.

The aliens chose to do things the hard way. So, the Pirates are racing around the galaxy to clean up the threat to Earth. The infant UN Navy has their own mission with the Alien Legion: Get humanity some allies in the fight. And the Ethics & Compliance Office might have to do something...ethical. Unless they can find a way around it.

The General and Skippy do a little litter box training for the Kitties... I confess, I woke up at 3 AM to download this book and it is better than my very high expectations! The plotline is fabulous and the banter is better than ever. Oh, R.C. Bray continues to be magic! Enjoy all you Skippers out there!

When does book 13 come out???!!!

Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the story but there weren't as many jokes/puns/gags/etc. In some respects the series is reminding me of the Wheel of Time series in that just as you thought or hoped it is coming to a close at the end you find out everything didn't get wrapped up and there is going to be another book you have to wait a year (or more) on it being published. For those that don't know about the WoT series, the author died without finishing it (thank Brandon Sanderson). I also found some of the phrases the characters said repeated a lot through out the story. Thank you again Mr. Bray for bringing this on to life.

Not as many laughs

What? You want the story to end? Wrapped up nicely and finished? Why? Where's the fun and entertainment in that? I hope these books keep going on and on. Yes there is fluff, but it's entertaining fluff. Strar Trek had fluff. Any sitcom has fluff. Each episode could be summed up in bullet points but that's not what you want. You want entertainment value that brings you back. If your looking for a nicely packed story that ends at the end, get a non-fiction story or a non-series book. I personally love this series. This is my audible version of a sitcom to distract me while I cook, clean, or do yard work. I want 20+ more. Take my money!

Another entertaining entry! Keep em coming!

The author listens to his readers and this book is proof. This is one of the first in the series where I felt excited the whole time, I've never literally moved to the edge of my seat while listening to an audio book before. I cannot wait for the next one! Outstanding narration as usual from Mr Bray!

The best of the series so far

Ever since the first book I have loved this series! As each book has been released, I continue to find myself completely engaged with the story! As for Breakaway, once again Craig Alanson once again delivers an all engrossing addition to the story and is well worth reading or listening to!!!

If possible I recommend listening. Every time I hear a book narrated by R.C. Bray I’m amazed at how he literally becomes each character in the book! I can literally not over state how impressive it is when considering the large number of unique character voices delivered so naturally in this series!!!

Another Excellent Expeditionary Force Novel!!!
