Publisher's summary

A clan of black bear shifters has settled into the old ghost town of Independence, CO and opened the Independence Dude Ranch.

Alpha Corbin Hurst has wished for his fated mate since he and his clan began work in Independence three years ago. Long days and longer nights have him dreaming of their future together.

After a rough breakup and swearing off men, Eloise Freimont books a visit to the dude ranch. She meant to focus on her life and getting herself together, not on sex-on-a-stick Corbin Hurst.

A stalker and a mysterious man stand in the way of lovers born to be together.

The world around them declares war on fate and pushes hard against the pair. Now, they and the pack have to take a stand for more than just love; the town itself needs protecting, and they’re the only ones that can do it.

This book had promise

I thought that this book had much promise and I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I could not get past the narrator. I will try again at a later date and, if necessary, update the review. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Dangerous Jealousy

This book has a wonderful storyline and a few amazing characters but the thing that made it hard to get through is the narrator. I love other books he has narrated but his voice just did not fit this book. If you can get past the narrator I would highly recommend this book. I received this book for free and this is my honest unbiased review.

Corbin 💚

This was one of my first books by this author. The story flowed beautifully and characters are easy to relate to. Sparks fly when Corbin and Eloise meet. Their is plenty of action, humor, suspense and steam to keep you turning the pages. Definitely love this series.

It did take me a few chapters to get used to this narrator. Overall a good listen.

Soulmates

My first book by this author and narrator. The story and characters were interesting and relatable. The chemistry is how I believe it is when you meet your soulmate. It took a bit to get used to the narrator. Looking forward to the next books in the series.

I needed more, but...

First, let me say that overall this book had great potential. It intrigued me enough to finish, but I needed so much more. Corbin is the Alpha of his Black Bear Clan and when their season opens at their cabin resort, he realizes that one of the guests, Eloise is his true mate. I love shifter stories and some of the language was very similar to my favorite shifter author, so I felt comfortable listening and envisioning the story. The character development left me feeling a little confused. I wasn’t aware that the villain was a villain because it seemed like a simple “break up” when he and Eloise parted. He went from zero to one hundred with nothing in between that showed why he was so intense. Eloise’s description didn’t match up with the bad boy covered in tattoos. Also, the bond between her and Corbin happened very quickly and her reaction to him being a bear, shifting right before her eyes, fell short. With her being a human, I wanted more hesitation, fear, etc. The narrator did not bring enough life to the story and I wish I had read the book instead of listen. This book could be so much more with some additional dialogue, depth, and angst. Like I said in the beginning, it intrigued me just enough to finish, but I needed so much more.

the beginning

It takes a bit longer to listen to a book, but it was worth it . the story is interesting. The characters are fun and the narrator does a decent woman's voice lol. my only issue perhaps a pause or a chapter heading to get the switches between the story and the bad guys?
