Publisher's summary

In August 2012, a baby girl was born without a right or left hemisphere of her brain. Doctors said she was essentially in a vegetative state, unable to see or hear - that there was no hope for her. Relinquished to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin by her birth parents under the state's Safe Haven Law, this two-week-old unnamed baby girl found her way to Cori and Mark Salchert's home. Despite the infant's grim medical diagnosis, Cori knew she couldn't allow this beautiful baby girl to spend her few days on Earth alone and unloved. Cori took the baby girl home and named her Emmalynn.

I Will Love You Forever reveals one woman's decades-long quest to find healing and redemption after the accidental death of her sister as a child. Since 2012, God has used hospice babies - those left to live and die without family to care for them - to mend Cori's broken heart. Bringing these fragile hospice babies into their home, Cori and her family have promised not only to hold them briefly, until their last breath on this side of heaven, but to love them forever and always. The loving actions of Cori and her family show that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

Cori's poignant story will strengthen your faith and touch your heart.

This woman must be heaven sent...

I have heard about those who love these babies while they finish living. This author is one of few who is cut out for it. I'm just very sorry she suffered so horribly for so many years with undiscovered health issues.
This book will warm your heart and cause your eyes to leak. It's a book bursting with love. There is nothing horrifying. Just a good lesson on unconditional love for babies who need it, and also on death as a part of living.
I love how she states that she isn't helping dying babies, but that she is helping them to live. That's such a beautiful hospice love.

Beautiful

This tells of a family who brings hospice babies to their home to die. The mom also has major health issues. The whole large family has much love and faith caring for these babies.

A Gentle Story About God’s Love

I liked this inspirational story. The author has been through tough times, that some might think would keep God from using her, but they are wrong. God uses imperfect people, in second Corinthians 12:9 He said His Grace is enough, because His Power is made perfect in weakness.
Give this title a chance, you will be glad you did.

Awesome book!!!

This book is so touching and inspiring - it takes such special people to care for these precious little ones! I was horrified at all the suffering Marianne went through in her life, yet she still was able to give of herself to children in need. Marianne and her husband are such wonderful people, and they raised some great biological children as well. I am so happy that the whole family are Christians and have put their faith in the Lord. What a wonderful testimony this book is!!!

The Fragility of Life

This book interested me because when I was a working RN I did homecare for awhile. Three of my patients were in hospice care. My three patients were in their own homes, not in my home as were the ones the author writes about but I was with each of them for 12 hours a day five days a week. In this book the author tells about several of the babies she cared for and the love she and her family gave to them. That brought back so many memories of the children I had cared for. The first one she cared for was like the first baby I cared for. Both girls were born with only a small part of their brains functioning, the part that is responsible for breathing. They were both blind and deaf and unable to eat. Both had feeding tubes. Both were unable to understand or communicate. Sad, but I agree with the author that the these small vulnerable humans deserve to be loved and cared for for as long as they are on this earth with us. Part of this story is autobiographical so I got to know the author and her family and get an understanding of how a woman with health problems herself could care for the babies an her own family. I think it is amazing that a whole family loved these little fragile humans as if they were their own. No one in the family seemed to be put out about having a new person in their home that took up so much of their mother's time and energy. An amazing family. NOTE: This book has many references to God. Don't let that stop you from reading this story.
I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because I would have liked to know more about the children she cared for. Having said that, I realise that to do so, the book would have to be Volume One, not a stand alone story.
