Publisher's Summary

Audie Award Nominee, Inspirational Nonfiction, 2013

Fearless takes you deep into SEAL Team SIX and straight to the heart of one of its most legendary operators.

When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan - but he was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, “I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me.”

Long before Adam Brown became a member of the elite SEAL Team SIX - the counterterrorism unit that took down Osama bin Laden - he was a fun-loving country boy from Hot Springs, Arkansas, whose greatest goal had been to wear his high school’s football jersey. An undersized daredevil, prone to jumping off roofs into trees and off bridges into lakes, Adam was a kid who broke his own bones but would never break a promise to his parents.

But after high school, Adam fell in with the wrong crowd, and his family watched as his appetite for risk dragged him into a downward spiral that eventually landed him in jail. Battling his inner demons on a last-chance road to redemption, Adam had one goal: to become the best of the best - a US Navy SEAL.

An absorbing chronicle of heroism and humanity, Fearless presents an indelible portrait of a highly trained warrior who would enter a village with weapons in hand to hunt terrorists, only to come back the next day with an armload of shoes and meals for local children. It is a deeply personal, revealing glimpse inside the SEAL Team SIX brotherhood that also shows how these elite operators live out the rest of their lives, away from danger, as husbands, fathers and friends.

Fearless is the story of a man of extremes, whose courage and determination was fueled by faith, family, and the love of a woman. It’s about a man who waged a war against his own worst impulses and persevered to reach the top tier of the US military. Always the first to volunteer for the most dangerous assignments, Adam’s final act of bravery led to the ultimate sacrifice.

Adam Brown was a devoted man who was an unlikely hero but a true warrior, described by all who knew him as fearless.

One Word...Wow

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend this book to ANYONE! Hope, Faith, Inspiration, Character, Perserverance... It's all there.

What other book might you compare Fearless to and why?

The only other biography that has touched me like this one was "God's Smuggler", the story of Brother Andrew.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Any additional comments?

I literally have several hundred books in my library and I've listened to them all at least once and several more than once. I must say that in all my listening over the last 4-5 years this book is easily in the top 3. Honestly, it is one of the most amazing stories I've ever read and Adam Brown is the prime example of making the most of a life that looked almost hopeless. I was glued to this book. I have a new respect for our military and the men and women who serve in it. I will be listening to this again and pushing it on anyone who will listen. The story of Adam's life has me reanalyzing mine.

As a former Marine NCO, I believe this book should be mandatory reading for all non-commissioned officers in he military...Every military chaplain should offer this book for reading to those personnel who are battling depression and demons....

What A Story

If this book isn't in your library it should be. What a ride the ups are so high it's amazing that a real person can soar above so high. But then comes the lows and brother I will tell you that I doubt seriously if I would have been as strong as him.

The 1st paragraph tells you that Adam Brown was killed in action, but the celebration of life is what this story is all about.
Spend the credit, read the story, and you will be proud you listened it will make you better
Just because...

A True American Hero

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone that loves America and the warriors that are willing to pay the ultimate price to defend our freedoms.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Adam Brown. This great man overcame more tragedies in his life than I could ever imagine. The words quit or give up were not in his vocabulary. He loved Jesus, his family, friends and his country more than I thought was possible. I pray that I can be half as good a man as this great man.

Which character – as performed by Paul Michael – was your favorite?

Adam Brown

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The life and trials of a American Hero.

Although I don't have children, I think this would be a great book for teenagers to read or listen to. It will teach them so much about life. It will show them what happens if you take the wrong path. It teaches all about faith, family and passion. Truly, amazing story. I didn't want it to end.

Inspiring. Adam is a true hero!

Adam is what all Americans should aspire to be. Over coming adversity and becoming someone everyone looks up to because of his faith and character. Those that knew him are very blessed.

An incredible story. I purchased it on a whim, was all out of books and search Navy seal books. It was a low priced book so I thought I would try it. Wow best book ever. After I was done I bought 4 Paper copes and gave them out for friends to read on loan. Then some of them gave it to there friends. I didn't care as long as these books did not sit on a shelf. I felt it was a book others should read. This book is a incredible story I encourage all to read it. It is so much more than just a story about the Navy Seals. Every person I have loaned these books out too has had the same feelings I have. Please purchase this book and enjoy.
