Publisher's summary

A neuroscientist’s groundbreaking, science-driven plan for revitalizing, nourishing and rejuvenating your most essential asset - your brain.

Your brain is the most essential organ in your body. The brain and spinal cord are intimately connected to every bodily system and organ, so when it is balanced everything in your body and mind will function more efficiently. It’s vitally important to take proactive steps now, or you risk losing everything, including your ability to think clearly, be creative, remember details, solve problems and retain your memory.

In Biohack Your Brain, leading neuroscientist Dr. Kristen Willeumier reveals how you can change your brain by making simple and easy modifications to your lifestyle. Combining clinical experience with revolutionary science, she details how biohacking your brain can boost your cognitive performance and so much more.

Dr. Willeumier’s essential guidebook shows you the most effective techniques to prevent memory loss and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease - and even how to overcome negative thoughts and stress. Through research and case studies, you’ll learn how to upgrade your nutritional choices along with the effective use of supplements, brain games, and physical activity to overcome cognitive damage, whether it’s from previous injuries, such as a concussion or a bad fall or from the effects of living in modern day times.

Dr. Willeumier shares her own story alongside those from the NFL players and other clients she has worked with to help you leverage the latest research to find personal solutions. Biohack Your Brain teaches you how to take better care of your brain, and also how to release excess weight, enhance your memory, increase your energy and vitality in order to create the best health and life possible.

Brain hacked!

This book has been so helpful in helping me rewire my thoughts and behaviors. My anxiety has drastically lowered and hoping to share many of these great tips with my father.

Boost your Cognitive Health!

I can't express enough how invigorating this information is. Audible books have been the core influence to my recent knowledge. This book should be mandated in all schools..

Spot On! A must have for every bookshelf.

I listened to this book and I also bought the hard copy of the book. Dr. Kristen is a wealth of information and if you want to reclaim your brain, and take control of your health, I would buy both the hard copy and the audio version. Listen in the car or while you exercise. Go back and use the hard copy to make sure you have easy access to her recommendations. As a nutritionist, I can tell you that she does not miss a beat. Most important is that Dr. Kristen has real world experience and she makes health very easy to understand.

Useless

There is nothing new in this book and the theories (avoid milk?) about biohacking your brain as absolutely unfounded. I stopped reading after a couple of chapters. Will return when possible

General statements mentioned 1000 times elsewhere

Well, if you don't know ANYTHING about how to live healthy, you eat donuts and potato chips all day , drinking gallons of soda, add sugar to your sugar, never exercise and think that your are doing fine - maybe you can find couple valuable advices in this book. As for the rest of the people - don't waste your time. Just read couple of articles at healthline - that's going to be way more useful and science-backed information.
Couple "valuable" and "insightful" advices from the book.
"Take multivitamins!" Oh, really? Any important differences? Composition, form, ratio of components, possible interaction with other supplements? Here goes the science-backed answer: "AVOID CHEWABLES!".
"How to choose the right probiotics?" Well, that's easy! "Choose the ones that have expiration date!!"
God, really? Does it really take a PhD in Neuroscience to give advices like this?
Total waste of time

I recommend to pass on this one.

I didn't really care for the narrator and I struggled to complete this audible book. I also found the information to be contradicting, such as praising a client that would sit for 8 hours doing puzzles but then also state that being sedentary is not good for your brain. In one section of the book she recommended massage therapy and referred to massage therapists as a "masseuse" A masseuse is not a positive or respectful term for the professionals that are licensed in massage therapy. Also if you are getting a $25 massage session as she states she does, more than likely they are not licensed as they should be. I did find some helpful information along the way such as the supplement information and the personal stories were inspiring.
