Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best seller Claire Contreras comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel...

When my sister asked me to take a course for her while she went out of town for work, I reluctantly agreed. I wasn't expecting to step into a university auditorium filled with overactive libidos lusting after the professor. And I certainly wasn't expecting to become one of those women myself, but there's something about Lorenzo Costello that makes him irresistible. He's the kind of man mothers warn their daughters about - mysterious, gorgeous, experienced, wild - and for some crazy reason he wants me.

I should run far away and save myself from the impending heartache. So why am I racing toward him? I’m totally going to get burned. A man like Lorenzo won’t leave me unscathed. He'll make ashes of me.

Because You're Mine is NOT a dark romance! It's sexy and will keep you listening.

It was ok.

I said it’s ok because it’s not the type of story I normally look for. I like my romances with a longer time line and not insta love/lust. The concept is sweet and it has its ups and downs. I’m sorry if this seems nit picky but I would have liked hearing from the male character’s point of view a bit more and, as stated before, a longer time frame. That being said, the voice actors did a fabulous job and I’d recommend this for those who enjoy the more basic love stories. I probably won’t listen to this again but I also don’t feel like it was a waste of time or money.

A steamy mafia story done oh-so-well

I'm not gonna lie, this book took me by surprise. I went on an author one-click binge one night recently (I blame the Lunesta and her secret societies books), not even bothering to read the blurbs. I was NOT expecting a mafia book. I mean, where did that come from, right? Of course, I was reading it! The versatility and creativity of this author never cease to impress me. It's like every book of hers I pick up is glued to me until I finish it. This story was no different.

Cat's character was, while skirting etiquette boundaries, endearing from the start. Her willingness to help her sister and brother, no matter the situations it put her in, showed how much family meant to her regardless of her feelings toward her parents and their choices. She fought for what she wanted and stood up for herself when the times arose. I love strong, independent heroines, and Cat didn't fail at all in being just that. And I loved the contrast between her elegance in pointe shoes and sexiness off the stage. Ballet dancers in books are also a favorite of mine.

Loren, oh, Loren... S** on a stick. Refined, sinful exterior with a filthy mouth and a fierceness when it came to Cat. Who wouldn't find him hot and desirable despite his transgressions? And, while I love seeing characters make grand transformations, in Loren's case, I'm glad it wasn't a huge one. His mobster persona fit him and the book so perfectly.

It you're into mafia-style romantic suspense, this is a book you definitely need to check out. I highly recommend it.

I thought the narration was good and delivered smoothly, which is important to me. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that, personally, I didn't feel like the narrator's voice matched what I expected Cat to sound like in my head. It doesn't have anything to do with her reading ability, just her tone of voice for this particular character. I'd still recommend this audio version.

Because You’re Mine

This was a dark, gritty, suspenseful, and thrilling journey to go on. I enjoy Mafia romances and this one didn’t disappoint. This book grabbed my attention from the beginning and kept me entertained till the end.
Stephen Dexter was fabulous as always. I didn’t care for the female narrator but overall I enjoyed listening to this story.

Okay story, bad female narrator

The story was okay; not great, but also not terrible. The thing that ruined the book for me was the female narrator. She sounded so breathy and whiny (like she was trying to sound super sweet/young) that it kept pulling me out of the story.

BAD NARRATION CAN RUIN A GOOD BOOK

The story was pretty good, however the female narrator ruined it for me. There is nothing I dislike more than characters that are supposed to be in their 20's and super attractive, yet they sound like they are 60 with emphazema. The male narrator was good, the female character not so much. Overall story was pretty ok..

Hard to follow plot

This book was disappointing. The sex scenes we're great, but the rest left a lot to be desired. I downloaded this book because of Stephen Dexter because I love his voice, but he doesn't narrate that much. When it comes down to it, the narration was good, but the plot was all of the place and I felt like there were still loose ends when the book ended. Also, there were major plots points just kind of shoved in that could've used more development. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this. There are better audiobooks out there.

Criminally Fabulous

This is the type of reading i like. Slightly dark drizzled with sex, romance and love! “Why did you come after me”...because you’re mine...sounds possessive but what girl doesn’t want to be wanted like that. This book has it all!! Loved loved loved it

Pleasantly surprised by this mafia romance

When I picked up this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. The blurb gave me enough to know that it was a different trope than I normally read, so it was going to be different than what I usually read. I usually stick to the tropes that are in my comfort zone, so I stepped out of it for this book. While I am not going to gush all about this book, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the story. It wasn't a stereotypical mafia book like I was expecting it to be. This story definitely kept me listening, especially as I reached the halfway point when the plot really started to pick up its pace.

I won't go crazy and say I want to read all the mafia books I can find now, but I will say I may be a little more open-minded after reading this book.
