Good story

This book captured my attention immediately. The author did a great job. The pace was great, and I liked the characters.

The male narrator had a strange accent. It felt like he was pushing his voice to be deeper than his normal range, and it was occasionally distracting. The female narrator was fantastic.

Overall, this was worth the time and credit. I would definitely recommend it.

Fair listen

Book has to may Latin works every other work was Latin and I assume a curse work. Could have been a bit less.

The characters

I actually was really impressed with this story. Actors oh my gosh they are wonderful

(Spoilers, kinf of) If there was a blueprint on how to write a basic mob romance...

... this is the example they would use. It was too predictable. The use of the Italian language was as if someone googled a few words and then used them on repeat to try and build a character. Any actual sentence in Italian was quickly followed by an explanation as if any bilingual person talks like that. The accent on the mc sound South America. Nothing wrong with that if you ignore the fact that he is supposed to be Italian. There is no real story line here. Girl gets sold to the mob by her dad . After having a hard life and dating a douching that is in the rival gang of her " new owner." She falls for him and is put off by his ex, so he has to prove himself to her. They f.. a bunch and once there relationship is cemented, he "betrays" her (really weak in this story.) She leaves, he let's her go.( cause love.) Even though he's pointed out several times that she's in danger because he loves her. She gets kidnapped by her ex from the rival gang and he saves her. They live happily ever after. Que weak intro to storyline of next book and fade to Black.

I found the story frustrating

I had a hard time liking the lead female or even understanding her thought process.

She tales and accepts abuse from here father and ex boyfriend going as far as to willing to sell herself to help save her crap father from his own crap debts. All of this abuse is horrible and potentially never ending or life ending.
Cut to Luca. Yes, Mafia. Yes, dark and scary but offers situations leaps and bounds better than the ones she's in and she all the sudden decides she's going to object. To what??? Better treatment? A better life? Better conditions? Proximity to a man she WANTS to have sex with??? A man that has treated her better than anyone she has known in the last 10 years???
Girl power... Women's lib... How about give the girl a brain? She's studying her college courses. Finishing her degree with an expensive book she couldn't replace in a penthouse all for a month with no sex required and she can leave at the months end....
Tell me why I'm supposed to root for her temper tantrums?
The book would have been sooooo much better if you would have given your lead a healthy dose of common sense. 🤦‍♀️

Absolutely amazing

This book is absolutely amazing. The writer did such an amazing job that I literally could not stop listening to this. The narrators kept me hooked from day one. This is my first book by this author and it certainly won't be my last. If you haven't gotten this book, you absolutely need to. It is worth the money or the credit you spend trust me on that.

Stella and Luca meant to be!

cute romance mafia story. not too dark or triggering at all. my only complaint is book could have been made shorter if there wasn't so much repetition of the exact same lines over and over again in the same paragraph. this mafia boss seemed very young and an airhead at times.

Really enjoyed this!

New to me author, and new to me narrators!! I really enjoyed this. Lighter mafia story, and fun to listen to!

Angsty

This was an angsty romance.
Stella is just trying to survive and graduate, she’s lost so much, but she is still working hard and striving to give herself the best opportunity to get out of the terrible situation.
She is smart & charismatic, she has suffered tragedy & betrayal.
Luca has clawed his way to the top, he’s lost loved ones. He is powerful, gorgeous and ruthless.
The chemistry & connection between Stella & Luca is incredible. Stella is feisty and sassy, their banter is great & the spice is hot.

Characters Annoying AF

So they both blamed themselves for Vinny’s death? Y? No logical reason. They both forgot the other to different degrees? Y? Who knows? They both placed limits on relationships? Y? Whatever I don’t really care anymore…just not for me.
