Admittedly, it took me a minute to get onboard with Greyson. I wasn’t sure what to make of him for awhile and I didn’t like how he treated Violet. But once he get himself and his feelings straightened out he really was able to shine through. Learning about his background and his father helped a lot as well. Violet was amazingly resilient. After suffering through what was potentially losing her life’s work and dream, she still found ways to center herself and persevere and I loved that about her. Her and Grey really brought out different sides of each other and it was interesting to watch that unfold. Ultimately they are exactly what the other one needed. Another wonderful S. Massery story!!

Loved the book - couldn’t stop listening to it. Fantastic story, definitely a little dark but so well written!

I loved this!!

No one is more shocked than I am by how much I ended up loving this. I went into it intrigued by the hype it’s been receiving but anticipating hating this based on reviews I was seeing on Goodreads and tik tok. This seems to be a pretty polarizing story - people either love Greyson or hate him. I enjoy bully romances and always have, but there is a caveat to this: I am absolutely a girl who loves groveling. And on top of that - there are certain lines the hero can’t cross. I was skeptical because I kept hearing that Greyson doesn’t grovel and for what it’s worth… he doesn’t but the way he and Violet connect just made sense.

I enjoyed watching them push each other to their limits. I wish I would have seen a little bit more bite and resistance from Violet, but overall I enjoyed her character arc. I liked how she was open to her new reality and how she was shaped by her trauma. And I loved the way Greyson was absolutely obsessed with her. And for what it’s worth I enjoyed the scene with Steele as well 🥵 I cannot wait for his book and I’m so glad I took a chance on this book.

Great enemies to lovers dark romance

S. Massery delivers a new adult dark college romance featuring a former dancer and the hockey player with a powerful father who caused an accident that ruined her future. As their relationship evolves, Violet connects with her own hidden darkness as Greyson, possessive and sadistic, introduces her to his own dark and punishing side. Excellent performances from both narrators. I have no triggers and highly recommend this audiobook!

I loved this dark bully romance! Teddy & Heather did a fantastic job narrating an really took the story to another level! I was able to listen and have the book to read when listening wasn't an option. Was very easy to jump back and forth. Highly recommend!

Dark romance hockey gods

Since I am in my hockey romance era, I thought I would give the Hockey Gods series a try. Oh my…. Greyson is unhinged and has massive red flags. This was my first bully romance and at times I was super uncomfortable but obviously since it is fiction, and because I know there is an HEA in the end I was super curious how they would get to that point.

In the end, I liked Greyson and Violets connection (although it took a while for me to get there). I’m not sure how healthy a connection it is though but I am looking forward to seeing their relationship woven into the other books in this series.

Think if Haunting/Hunting Adeline and The Deal had a baby- it would be this book

Series: First book in the Hockey Gods series ( I recommend reading them in order)

Spice level: This book was 5/5 chili spices for me. (Again, check your trigger warnings)

Writing/plot:
I did like the story line and how it all unfolded. I liked the suspense aspect and how there were twists I didn’t see coming.

Characters:
Greyson is an alphahole hockey player who gets what he wants when he wants it. As a senators son, his family has the ability to wipe away any bad press. They can make his bad actions “go away” which thus fuels his morally gray behavior further.

Violet is just trying to find her way after a car accident ended her dance career. I liked Violet as an FMC but at times she gave into Greyson a little too easily and I would have liked to see a little more fight or payback.

The male side characters are seriously ride or die like no other. They are there for each other with no questions asked and have each other’s back even if what is being asked of them borders on insane/illegal, etc.

Audio: 5/5 Teddy Hamilton and Heather Firth did an amazing job bringing these characters to life!

Ok, I loved this book,but it is a MAJOR dark romance.

This book has a wonderful plot. The storyline is captivating,BUT you have to read your trigger warnings. The ending is AMAZING!!!! It makes the book totally worth reading ,and you will absolutely fall in love w/Grey. and Violet. ✨️

Brutal Obsession is the perfect title

Brutal Obsession is exactly like the title says. This couple and their relationship was brutal but yet the obsession so strong they just couldn't leave each other alone. I normally enjoy a dark bully romance but Grayson was just a bit too much for me. For 3/4 of the book the exchanges between the couple had me questioning how they could possibly redeem everything. Then it all just clicked and I ended up enjoying the last part of their book. The bit of suspense was a nice addition and kept me intrigued throughout the story. Overall I liked it but there were a few moments where I was definitely questioning continuing.
