Most one POV

I got really excited thinking the story would actually have multiple POVs but we only get it at the end. The story was good. FMC could be a little annoying at times but wasn't the worst. MMC is dark and morally grayish. Plot wasn't bad and felt like didnt have a lot of world building. Maybe we will see that more in book 2. Overall it was an enjoyable story.

Everything We Needed and More

Incredible! As a follower of The Broken Prophecy series, this was absolutely everything I hoped for! Jessica gives a stellar performance as Lana and Gabriel is everything we’d hope for in a mysterious shadow daddy like Kade! Book 2’s audio can’t come fast enough!

Loved this book

This was such a great audiobook. I loved the storyline and can't wait for book 2 to come out. And YES, I will be listing to the audiobook and owning book 2 as well. Such great writing.

OMG! LOVED THIS STORY!

I absolutely LOVED this book! I cannot wait for the next one! the only thing I would criticize would be more from Kade's POV (love Gabriel Michael) but I thought the story was great!

They did an excellent job bringing these characters to life. I felt their pacing and tone were perfect also. They brought forth all the emotions the characters were meant to draw from the readers. Absolute perfection. Gabriel was perfection at bringing Kade to life as Jessica was also as Illiana.

This is Illiana and Kade’s story. I have just finished listening to this book and I’m begging for more! Needless to say this was a heck of a cliffhanger.

There is so much to unpack in this book. The world building is top tier and the character development is also perfection. I will definitely be delving into these authors backlist.

The king has ordered a marriage contest where Illiana will choose her husband from the top three survivors of three contests. Illiana will be queen and her husband will be King.

Some dark disease has infected many fae who are working to take over the kingdom.

Unbeknownst to the palace it began by traitors with in their own trusted servants. Their planned takeover has been in the plays for decades.

At the third contests before the top three winners can be declared they launch their attack to overthrown the palace and to kill the king and take his strong magic at his death.

Now go read the book and learn about the trials, the main characters and who lives and who doesn’t.

I very highly recommend this book! I’m off to start Shadows Of Ruin - book 2!

Fun story

Loved this story! Wish there was more duel narration. Only got a little bit of that towards the end. Hopefully the next novel will have more of it.

Maybe a different narrator

I'm a huge Gabriel Michael fan, was looking forward to hearing him quite a bit but didn't really get that much of him. I was hoping the story would be told with multiple POVs but was disappointed with it mainly just FMC. The FMC narrator would practically shout the chapter # at me and for some strange reason in chapter 10, the beginning of each sentence would be cut out or off. I'm interested in the plot but I'm overall disappointed with how this audiobook was handled, just glad I only used a credit on it and not my actual money.
