Incredible!!!

I haven’t been affected by a book like this one in a while. Storyline was gripping and narration was perfect! I didn’t see the twist coming when I usually do. Such a great book!

Good, just not her best

I’ve really liked Mary Kubica’s previous books, so I went into this one expecting to love it. I didn’t — but I also didn’t hate it. I’d call it a solid 3.5 for me. The premise was interesting, but the story felt a little fragmented and didn’t flow as seamlessly as her earlier work. I also struggled with the characters. They came across more whiny than layered, and I kept wanting more depth and development so I could actually feel invested in them. It was still readable and had moments of suspense, but it just didn’t hit the same way her other books have for me. Good — just not her strongest.

Tragic scene to walk into.

I really enjoyed the book…the plot, the characters, and the twists were great! I feel at times Courtney was a little whiney and naive. That’s probably how she was supposed to be, but it drove me nuts. Parts of the story could have been shorter…but overall really great book!

Struggling

I am struggling to get through the first couple of chapters. The story is very drawn out and the narrator for Courtney is not good in my opinion. I also don’t like how in detail everything gets as far as her thoughts. Not sure I will finish this, seems like a lost credit to me.
