Absolutely wonderful! Great characters, great writing, excellent narration. Characters were fully developed. Definitely could be a netflix show!

10/10 loved this one

From start to finish this novel kept me engaged and wanting more. If I had the time, I would have listened to it without stopping. Almost gives a Desperate Housewives vibe (which I absolutely love) , and I have been looking for a story like this. I adore the strong female characters in this story. Overall 10/10

A lot of character characters

The first thing I have to say is that January LaVoy is absolutely killing it in this audiobook. The sheer number of voices and roles she takes on is mind-blowing — it almost doesn’t seem possible that one person could pull that off, but she does, and flawlessly. Major kudos to her. 👏

Now, full honesty — there were a lot of families and characters. At times it got confusing, and I found myself rewinding or revisiting chapters to remember who was connected to whom: which kid belonged to which family, which husband was cheating on which wife… you get the idea. It was a lot to keep straight.

But even with that, the storytelling kept me hooked. The layers, the drama, the depth — all of it pulled me in. Overall, I’m giving this a solid 5/5 because despite the complexity, it was really, really good.

Fun. Ended My Drought

I was going through a terrible “book drought”(?); disappointing book after disappointing book until I got to this.

Loved it!!

I loved this book! I was sad it was over. Neighborhood/friendship drama is my favorite trope so when I saw it come up as a recommendation for me, I immediately bought it. It didn’t disappoint! It gets right into the drama and keeps you engaged all the way through. I was surprised by the twist at the end and the ending was chef’s kiss- perfect! Everyone got what they deserved and everything was buttoned up perfectly, just like I like in an ending. The narrator is perfect, she’s one of the best there is so I knew she would be. I will def read more from this author.

Kept Me Guessing!

I loved all this book. The characters were compelling and the final pieces clicked for me about a second before the big reveal. I loved the "girl power" vibes of this novel and how each woman introduced felt familiar. They were all flawed but trying their hardest to make things right, and perhaps mostly importantly, came together when it mattered the most. I'm picky with my 5-star reviews, but this was a great listen and I'll definitely be checking out more from this author in the future.

Excellent Storyline and Superb Narration!

As always, January LaVoy nails this performance. Great story with a big cast, so take notes! Super entertaining, reminds me of "Big Little Lies". This was my 70th Audiobook and definitely in the top 5 overall. Already started my next book by this author, The Perfect Sister, and I can already tell it's going to be good as well!
