Loved it!!

I loved this book! I was sad it was over. Neighborhood/friendship drama is my favorite trope so when I saw it come up as a recommendation for me, I immediately bought it. It didn’t disappoint! It gets right into the drama and keeps you engaged all the way through. I was surprised by the twist at the end and the ending was chef’s kiss- perfect! Everyone got what they deserved and everything was buttoned up perfectly, just like I like in an ending. The narrator is perfect, she’s one of the best there is so I knew she would be. I will def read more from this author.

Absolutely wonderful! Great characters, great writing, excellent narration. Characters were fully developed. Definitely could be a netflix show!

A lot of character characters

The first thing I have to say is that January LaVoy is absolutely killing it in this audiobook. The sheer number of voices and roles she takes on is mind-blowing — it almost doesn’t seem possible that one person could pull that off, but she does, and flawlessly. Major kudos to her. 👏

Now, full honesty — there were a lot of families and characters. At times it got confusing, and I found myself rewinding or revisiting chapters to remember who was connected to whom: which kid belonged to which family, which husband was cheating on which wife… you get the idea. It was a lot to keep straight.

But even with that, the storytelling kept me hooked. The layers, the drama, the depth — all of it pulled me in. Overall, I’m giving this a solid 5/5 because despite the complexity, it was really, really good.

Fun. Ended My Drought

I was going through a terrible “book drought”(?); disappointing book after disappointing book until I got to this.
