Messy, tender, funny, and a little devastating. Definitely my favorite of the series so far.

This story is by far my favorite of the series.
It’s narrated in dual by Lilly Drake and Aiden Snow.

It’s basically watching a feral, touch‑averse assassin get emotionally steamrolled by a sunshine singer who refuses to be handled.
Aleksandr starts off as this cold, gloved‑up, dead‑eyed menace, and somehow Lena (in all her petty, witty, bright glory), turns him into a man who grovels. For her.
And oh boy, he does grovel.

There is some drama with the dancer of his childhood… to me it had more depth to this cold hearted and emotionally constipated man.

Aleksandr (Alek) & Lena

I was not excited about this book, but it turned out to be really good. Even though this was Alek & Lena’s story, I love love love Anya & River & their appearances in this book, especially Anya. Anya’s one liners were the best & how she handled Lena’s mother was excellent 🤌. Anyway, Lena was sweet, & kind but not a pushover and I appreciated that. I also loved how Anya took to her. This whole series has been enjoyable and I so love the wit sprinkled throughout. I purchased the audio book and as with the others in the series, it was masterfully narrated by Aiden Snow & Lilly Drake. I love Aiden Snow’s voice. It’s also age appropriate- - - sounding.

The book I was looking for and on audio!! yes yes yes!!!!!

I was in a book slump nothing could keep my attention. I can accross this book! The narrators did a great job and were made for this book!! The story is gripping and makes you want more!! I am so thankful it was available on audi because I would have done nothing for an entire day could not put this book down!!! I loved Lena she was a strong character trying to find her way and in the end she did!! Alec was just so yummy!! you will not be disappointed by this book this is one of my favorites in the series getting to know these characters and their stories chefs kiss... 5 stars all around...
