Surprisingly Spectacular!

I don’t normally enjoy this type of story; The entire genre of fantasy (and especially the sub-genre of fantasy romance) is not typically my favorite. Occasionally I stumble onto a gem like this one, however. Sometimes there’s too much of what seems like bestiality for me to enjoy the romance—but delightfully, Emma Hamm made the sea people human enough to no feel like animals, but like another “human” species—despite the juxtaposition. The characters were so deep and enjoyable, and the story was enthralling. It was so easy to get immersed in the world Hamm depicted. And the spicy scenes were *chef’s kiss! 🔥 I cannot wait for the next book! I look forward to the second book even more because I always enjoy the cruel “men” the most! The brother’s story will be 🔥! I am on edge because the third book is not yet available on Audible and I do not know if I can stand the wait! 😂 While I could—and probably will if it isn’t released in audio soon—read it, I will surely miss the delicious voice of Will M. Watt! He and Carmen Rose are a delightful duo! Narration really makes the audiobook—especially in spicy romance! All the stars. Seriously. All of them, and I am a hard sell—a very tough critic. The story moves at an excellent pace, its original, creative, unbelievably well-written, and utterly perfect! You won’t regret it—even if this isn’t your typical genre. I rarely leave 5 star reviews.

Very good performances, loved the male narrator the most. Story was average but the audio really added a ton

THE AUDIO!!!

The audio performance was absolutely wonderful!! Both VAs were so wonderful. The storyoine was just as wonderful to listen to. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!!

Title says it all. Intriguing plot, steamy romance, otherworldly (and sexy) characters and excellent narration. Chefs kiss.

World building and story were fantastic!

The character development and story line were on point! I loved that the female lead was strong and resilient. It was nice to read a love story where the characters did not simply fall in love at first sight, but that their love grew over time.
