Light Romance

Connor & Lexi are the main characters each with broken hearts.
He is and lives the rockstar life and carries a broken heart after the death of his mother and abandoned by his father. He does not believe in love only ons.
Lexi still grieves the loss of her husband and finds comfort in her photography. Connor hires her to capture the essence of their band while on tour.
Light read, Instant attraction, Light on the spice, No angst or cheating, and Plenty of push and pull.
The MMC is possessive, sweet and cruel to the FMC.
Disliked: Lexi apologizing to Connor when he should be groveling.

Amazing read

I love the story in this book and the characters are really well developed. However I would’ve enjoyed this book. Much better if it had been written in first person. Audiobooks come across much better in first person than third person. It was very distracting. However, I did enjoy the story.

Not my favorite

This really needs duet narration, the female narrator does his Irish accent, but the male narrator only uses it occasionally.
Written in third person, you really can’t do point of view chapters. They were just a lot of things that took me out of the story.
The MMC was not entirely likable. She slept with one guy and he’s slept with thousands, but could never consider having a relationship because his mother died. A little too Norman Bates for me.

The MMC is the only real antagonist in the story. I was kind of hoping she’d end up with one of the other guys, they seemed a lot nicer.
(Spoiler territory) After he tells her she’s fired and to get out, he shocked that she won’t take his calls. Five weeks later when he finally shows up at her house, he makes HER apologize to him and tell him she loves him first. No grand gesture, just a few insufficient words.

Great angst

I love this book so much. The narrators are perfect for the characters as well. The only thing I don't like about this book is it's in third person POV. However, tend to overlook that kind of stuff when the book is "older" compared to all the new stuff being produced left and right these days. There were less readers back in 2020 and even less that reviewed books with their opinion of how they were written. I think more and more authors have seen the opinion of readers and how we like to feel more immersed in the story so third person POV kind of hinders that. I think that if this book were written now, it would be in first person POV but who knows? Either way, I still love it.

I really love this author.

This was a very well written book. the characters were well developed and the storyline kept my attention. I felt that the male character was a bit of a jerk. but I guess he was a rockstar so they get a pass. I'll definitely read more of this author's books.
