Publisher's summary

Pennywhistle Bombproofed.

Death limits a man’s future opportunities, but for Royal Marine Major Thomas Pennywhistle, death expands them. After a near-death experience, he sees the world with enlightened eyes and enhanced perceptions. He will need them, because he has a code to break, a murder to solve, and spies to outfox. He will be entering a world of international intrigue, confronting a conspiracy to undermine the British monarchy. His capacity for guile, quick thinking, and decisive action have served him well in combat; now he will exercise his talents in the arena of politics.

Pennywhistle has a staunch ally in his resourceful American bride, but Sammie Jo is a fish out of water in Regency England, struggling to find her footing in high society. Marriage is an undiscovered country for both of them. Will they lose their way or trust their hearts' compass?

From the battlefield grime of Tidewater Maryland to the elegant halls of St. James Palace, Pennywhistle’s courage will be tested, and he will be asked to serve his country in ways that he could never have imagined.

Another fun book!

I love the Pennywhistle books for their creativity and their historical settings. The writing is truly top drawer, and the narration is really excellent.
Some audiobooks are ruined by bad narration, but Peever is truly fantastic - one of my favorite narrators.

Bombproofed

This was another great adventure story set in the Revolutionary War.There’s good guys and bad guys,a whole lot of blowing up stuff and noise.Hannibal Hills was a terrific narrator! I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.

A good read.

Overall I loved the book, though in a few places I struggled.
I was hoping for more action and less talking.
The narration is superb and Mr Peever definitely shows his considerable talent.
A good listen and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

A really good series

This is the 2nd book in the series I have listened to. It’s quite a long book at almost 17 hours but the story keeps moving a long nicely so you don’t get bored. I am looking forward to the next book as were it left off has me wanting to know what happens next. If you have the chance have a listen to them. Start with Bellerophon’s champion it si so graphic you will think you are there.
