Twists from the little mermaid story are so good. Loved it along with her other books!

Meh *shrug* it was okay

This was an OK read for me. Nothing super special. Partially because I just don't really vibe with the whole contest/pageant trope. It's a little mermaid retelling where the main character is a seal fae who delights in being a klepto and the MMC is the son of a religious organization who persecuted fae. There's a ton of secondhand embarrassment in this book due to the FMC being awkward AF in the beginning. I really liked the Cinderella retelling much better because it threw out the miscommunication and lying tropes whereas this book relies pretty heavily on them. It was cute, had some good moments but overall I wasn't in love with this story.

Love this series

I loved the Snow White retelling the best but this one was a pleasant read as well, I always love how she twists and retells the tropes - also the narrators are very easy to listen too

Little mermaid retold amazingly

Such an amazing story not like that of Disney or Hans Christian Andersen! Love this version!

Very good but be warned

Honestly I almost gave up on this book. I was annoyed that you hardly know who Dorian is until a little closer to chapter 20 in the book. It does pick up eventually and its a fun read. The climax of the book is very intense, but the beginning of the book drags out for a very LONG time setting up the story. I enjoyed it but personally Heart of the Raven Prince was much better and easier to get enraptured into. Overall its pretty good but it wasn't my favorite.

Wanted to like this but...

For starters the narrator sounds a bit like Jennifer Coolidge and once I thought it I couldn't unhear it. The narrator's flow is choppy.

I also feel like the author is seriously anti-religious and as a religious person while I can understand how someone could feel that way such in your face blasting of it took me out of the story and I couldn't enjoy it. I really wanted too because I love fairytale reimaginings. But I don't think this author is for me.
