Publisher's summary

Carlita Garlucci is thrilled that her son Tony has arrived in Savannah to help with the opening of their new pawnshop Savannah Swag. While giving her son a tour of the property, they stumble upon a hidden trapdoor that leads to an undiscovered basement with a tunnel.

Curious to find out where the tunnel leads, Tony breaks through the wall and discovers underground passageways rumored to have been used by pirates to smuggle their stolen goods into the historic city. While exploring the tunnel, the Garluccis find skeletal remains with ties to a darker secret that has been hidden behind the tunnel walls.

The gruesome discovery causes Carlita to wonder what other secrets her property holds. Despite her insistence that they reseal the tunnel, Carlita’s children convince her to leave it open long enough for them to explore the passageways as they attempt to solve a decades-old mystery.

They quickly discover that the secrets hidden underground are tied not only to the previous owners of her property but also implicate Carlita's deceased husband Vinnie.

Will Carlita and her children be able to clear Vinnie's name, or will their snooping around incriminate him even more?

Swag in Savanah

I like how Hope has it written from Collotta 'a point of view. This is quite the page Turner of in my case the audio listener. Can't wait to find out what happens next. It's a good read alone but uninterested off starting with book one.

Another mystery to solve

It seems that life is gradually moving well for Carlita and Mercedes Garlucci. They are on the way to open a new shop. Then they locate an underground tunnel in one of their properties with a lot of surprises. They also noticed that someone is snooping around in their tunnel. Thus Garlucci family turns on detective abilities to find who is the culprit.

The narration was done great. Valarie is good with different voices and accents for male, female or child. She has made this book come to life.

Great Mystery

I really like Hope Callaghan’s books. I loved this story, a mystery, about an Italian family. It is a clean book and anyone in the family could read it. It is suspenseful and interesting and hard to stop. A very good read!!
