When the bookshop she owns becomes a crime scene, mystery writer Samantha Washington discovers there is such a thing as bad publicity. Cute mystery
Thus was a cute, cozy mystery. The ending could've been more. There are a few gaps in the story but, overall it was a good read. Thanks for recipes.

Exemplary Cozy
Thirty years or so ago, I loved the film Clueless, a modern take on Jane Austen's EMMA. Madison, the main character in Valerie Burns' Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder, is just spoiled and pampered enough to bring that movie to mind. But, just as in the film, Madison's strong sense of justice, her kindness and her inner toughness shine through all privilege, the fancy clothes and the expensive shoes. Narrated with just the right amount of sass by Jasmin Walker, I sure hope this is a series because I want to listen to another book about these characters.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY
I absolutely LOVED this. It was just what I was looking for! An easy, breezy murder mystery that had a great plot, interesting and loveable characters, great humor and excellent narration. This book hit all the spots. At first, I was uncertain about the setting being a bakery, but the author tord it in with such a warm and rich history. Such a great plot, kept just enough twists in there for a great mystery, all the while being quirky and funny. They did leave one question unanswered, and I hope thats it part 2. I can't wait to read when it comes out this summer! I am a new fan of Ms. Burns, and a devoted reader of the Baker series, keep em comin!

cozy mystery but with great plotting
I love a cozy but many of them have weak plots. Not this one! Well written and structured, with likeable characters and good pace. I'd follow a series based on this one.

Everything you need in a Cozy✨
This hits everything you want in a cozy mystery without coming off corny lol. The characters were diverse. The story was descriptive enough to provide color to without dragging out every little detail. The killer reveal wasn’t super gasp worthy but it wasn’t who I expected. A very cute, solid, read.
