Publisher's summary

A Russian weapon engineer's work is never done. Not while the Imperial Legion marches.

After dying, losing his soulmate twice, building elemental cannons, and knocking down more than metaphorical walls for the Crimson Alliance, Vlad is looking for a place to call his own: a crafting guild that will be able to produce the most overpowered loot the world of VGO has ever seen.

Gathering his personal guard, Vlad sets off across the monster-infested Storme Marshes to find the perfect power source, hidden away in the guts of a mysterious sunken ruin. Unfortunately, the mob from old Earth hasn't forgotten him, and Vlad isn't the only one with a thirst for forbidden inventions. He has less than a week to overcome enemies new and old, or his dream of a guild hall for all crafters will be lost forever.

From James A. Hunter - author of Viridian Gate Online, Rogue Dungeon, War God's Mantle, and the Yancy Lazarus Series - and author N. H. Paxton comes an epic new entry into the Expanded Universe of Viridian Gate Online that you won't want to pause!

exceptional in every way

everything from start to finish flawless and captivating, only wish same narrator as main series read so the characters voices would have been the same

Another amazing book in the series

I don't want to go into a lot of spoilers I will leave at this it's a phenomenal book Vlad character development is amazing he's always been one of my favorite characters in the main series and most intriguing at least for me. As always Vikas Adams does an absolutely fantastic job as with the rest of his work this one was no surprise.

not as good

sadly 2nd in this series did not keep me anywhere near as engaged, Midway through the book it seems as though the writer lost their concentration... little childish things popped out... unneeded additions that made it seem as though they were trying to fill the book out.... no explanations for many things... and new lore that was just thrust upon us... the character seem to blow himself up repeatedly, to the point it actually got boring.... and the protagonist that is after him, seems to be a weak collective from The real world... I think the author forgot that this is now the real world people are forced to live in with viridian gate online...
will probably pick up the next one just to finish out the series when it finally comes out... let's hope the writer learned more from putting out this one, and has better ideas ready for the next.

Vlad deepens

Paxton has added an excellent volume to the more and more fascinating legend of Vlad the alchemic engineer.

Great character

I really like VGO. There is so much depth to the world. The “spin-off” books add a lot to the main characters in the series. I like that the plots are interconnected. Villas Adams did a fantastic job with his narration of this book.

not crazy about the reader

It may be because I started with the main story line about Jack first but alot of the voices for characters in this one are totally different than those from the main story line which was realy annoying. the story line was good and i love Vlad as a character.

franchise

I’m having trouble getting to work this morning so I’ll be brief. This book is good and recounts more about the world, showing more sides of already introduced aspects like overminds and charecters.
Vlad is a good main charecter and continues to be a major and honest personality throughout the book.
I really enjoyed a lot of the stuff that’s hard to say outside of spoilers, but what I can say is that this is one of the most… dense books in terms of new information I’ve read in the whole of VGO. I heartfeltly recomend it.

Another Winner!

I'm currently binging my way through VGO, albeit in an unorthodox order, but I've loved them all so far! Personally I do like the main story line the best (Jack's) though I do really enjoy the side stories. It truly is an amazing world James Hunter has created, and I've enjoyed every corner of it so far! Can't wait for the next!!
