Great friends to lovers romance

Wow, this is my first Ryleigh Sloan romance, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed Kevin and Claire's story, but there were some definitely difficult bumps in their road to a happily-ever-after.

Kevin and Claire are long time friends, and they have a 'friends with benefits' arrangements that suits them just fine because neither is looking for love. Until they are. Until Claire realizes that she's always loved Kevin, but it takes him a bit longer to realize that he's not just being protective of a friend, and maybe he doesn't need to protect her from the world, but instead be there to experience it with her.

This was a really emotional story, with lots of obstacles in their way, but none of them are insurmountable. The passage of time, however, makes them both doubtful of the other's feelings.

As always, Erin Mallon does a phenomenal job narrating and brining this story to life. She brings so much emotion to the table as she embodies Claire's concerns, her thoughts, her insecurities and her emotions. It really enhances the story.

Such a fun story of friends to lovers! Long time best friends finding their way to something more. Just the right amount of angst and drama to keep you wanting to hear what happens next.

Erin is always amazing narrator and she did not disappoint!

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book. It had great characters, good drama, and great writing! Erin Mallon, once again, was a perfect joy to listen to. She is an insta-buy narrator.

Good Listen

Claire and Kevin has been with each other forever until he goes off and hits it big. He brings Claire into his other life and tries to protect her from the spotlight. They have never put a label to their relationship and when Claire tells him her feelings, everything changes. She does something selfless for her sister and realizes that she can't hide forever. This is a book that takes you on an emotional ride with Claire and Kevin. Good story.
🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Loved the Hollywood vibe

I received this audio book free for an honest review. This was an awesome story. Loved the sexy Kevin and the sensitive Claire. The romance made me laugh and cry. The twist in the middle was unexpected. The location, being South Africa, is not a typical location. Couldn't turn off this audiobook. The author did an excellent job with this story and keeping the listener's attention. The narrator is one of my favorites. She is fabulous with the voices, their personalities and their character. She enhances every story she narrates.

Best Friends

I so enjoyed the audiobook BACK BEAT that I chose to immediately start this book, CLICHÉ, by Raleigh Sloan. Best friends romance is a favorite trope of mine. This one was beautiful. I loved the storyline and characters. I'm truly amazed that this is her debut book. I found myself crying and my heart physically hurting several times through this book. In addition I got angry and groaned in frustration. Not just with Kevin & Claire’s relationship, but with Claire's relationship with her sister as well. There were also instances where I smiled, laughed, became giddy, and swooned. Authors that are able to grab my emotions generally receive five star reviews from me! It is well deserved. I bought her only other book to listen to it as well.

Erin Mallon has become a favorite narrator of mine. She did so well with both male and female parts. Her performance was perfect. She is so easy to listen to for longer periods of time.

Loved this Story

Kevin Peyton, Hollywood heartthrob , every woman's dream. and he was Claire's best friend. They were friends since childhood,and stayed friends, very best friends , friends with benefits, but is that all it is? They shared everything , hopes, dreams, secrets, drama in their lives, Will it stay that way? Claire always told Kevin she didn't understand his life in the limelight and paparazzi around him all the time. It wasn't until he had a relationship with Kayley, pop singer , that Claire knew her true feelings. Kevin told her it was a fake one, but with social media stories, how could she believe it? This story is funny, thanks to granny, steamy, and emotional. This is first book by Ryleigh Sloane I've ever listened to. Erin Mallon narration is flawless and flows smoothly between the characters. She shows all the emotions and feelings and gives each character their own personality. I thoroughly enjoyed listening this story.

Kevin and Claire have been friends since they were kids and are also friends with benefits. Both are comfortable with this arrangement until something happens that makes them rethink their relationship.
This was a very enjoyable story. Kevin and Claire are very likable and relatable characters. Erin Mallon did an excellent job with narration.
