Publisher's summary

She’s never left her home in the mountain wilderness of the Canadian Rockies - until now. Little did she realize, this journey would change her life in every way.

The mountain wilderness of her family’s home in the Canadian Rockies is all Hannah Grant has ever known. Now at the age of 24, she’s on a journey to help her father to find the son he gave up for adoption three decades before. This is Hannah’s chance to discover the life she’s missed out on so far - and hopefully find a husband along the way. But she certainly doesn’t plan to fall for the first man she meets.

Years in the cavalry provided Nathaniel Peak with more than his share of violence and adventure. That life behind him, he wants nothing more than to settle down in the beautiful Montana mountains and raise his own stock - in peace. The last thing he expects is the savagely wounded child who shows up in his barn. Nor the woman he comes to rely on for the girl’s care.

Hannah can’t help but fall in love with the brave Indian child who so desperately needs her, but no matter what, she can’t let herself fall for the man whose past choices go against everything she believes in. As the situation grows worse, Hannah and Nathaniel are forced to make a heart-rending decision to save the girl’s life. Little do they imagine, the choice they make could spell disaster for them all.

Bittersweet Ending- looking forward to the next series

I’ve spent countless hours listening to Ms. Beller’s books. I’m glad I decided to listen to Kathleen and Ruben’s story first. I felt like Emma and Simeon’s story was so long ago that it took a a little while to realize who Ruben was! Anyway, both are great series. I’ve enjoyed them immensely. Although there are a few with TERRIBLE narrators, such a Brian’s story. My goodness. That was painful but my loyalty helped me continue. It was worth it. Loved loved loved.

Loved this book.

Misty M Beller is one of my favorite authors! She is truly gifted in her ability to create a story that won't let the reader put it down!

The only critique I would put forth, is that the narrator be just a touch more careful in the pronunciation of some words. When the word needed was "cavalry", it was read as calvary. This was distracting every time it occurred. It's a minor thing, yet also important to those who know the difference. Otherwise...wonderfully performed and written. Highly recommended!!

Great to Work By

Although this book is a great deal like the others in the series, I enjoyed it. To see the father, who gave up his twins in the last book, get to meet his son is worth the price. Hannah Grant has ever known she has a step brother until now. Now, she’s on a journey to help her father to find the son he gave up for adoption three decades before. I’m the process she meets Nathaniel Peak. PG13 The narration is weak but ok.

It's a journey neither expected...

Well, it's over. Seven books for me and twenty-five plus years for the extended Grant family. It's time to say goodbye. This Healing Journey is the conclusion to Misty M. Beller's wilderness themed historical romance Heart Of The Mountains series and the story has come full circle. Our heroine is on an emotional journey with her parents as they try to find the son that her father gave up after the tragic death of his first wife. She just never expected to find her hero at the same time.

This Healing Journey is one of my favorites from the series and not just because of the solution to the mystery that has intrigued readers/listeners from book one. No, I liked it because Misty M. Beller takes the story in a little different direction than in the previous six books. Instead of being a book-long trek through the wilderness much of the story takes place at the hero's fledgling ranch. This time the heroine is the one who is wilderness-wise. And the journey they do take is one of the most suspenseful in the Heart Of The Mountains series. One nice thing that hasn't changed is that t he cast of characters is still pretty small and easy to follow, which is perfect for audiobook listeners such as myself.

Speaking of the audiobook, it was excellent. Once again the narrator gives a stellar performance and really brings the story to life. The audio quality is also very good making it a seamless and entertaining listening experience. If you love historical romance but don't have time to read I would definitely recommend this audiobook and the entire series.

Perfect Finale! 💟

This was such an enjoyable series! Each book can stand alone but some characters are spoken about or included in each instalment. This final book did not disappoint. This heartfelt story and characters drew me in from the beginning and left me feeling fulfilled but wishing for more. As usual, Leonor A Woodworth's narration was spot on. What a treasure for this genre!

I appreciate the opportunity to listen and review this book. I was given a free review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. 😃

uplifting storyline

The only thing that bothered me was that the narrator referred to the "Cavalry" (mounted soldiers), she pronounced it "Calvary" (where Jesus died). Don't these narrations get reviewed by an editor. Maybe I'm being picky, but I cringed everytime she said it.

Loved this!

I loved the characters in this book, you could just feel the love and compassion in them. This is a very realistic story except for a small part (in my opinion) but I don't want to give anything away so I won't mention what.

The author did a good job of developing the characters and the plot, it was as hard to stop listening at night. The sense of family was so strong in this.

The narrator did a good job of bringing this story to life.

Full of compassion

As Hannah and Nathaniel seek to help an injured Hidatsa girl, they discover each other’s character and heart. When the girl is reclaimed by her family, the pair set out in a journey of intense daring and potential for disaster. Yet as they learn to trust in God for their safety and provision they must also learn to let go.
