The elite crew of the pirate ship UNS Flying Dutchman had a simple mission: determining whether the Thuranin are sending another starship to Earth.

Along the way, they became sidetracked by securing a future for the UNEF troops on the planet Paradise. When asked whether Earth was now safe, their ancient alien AI responded "Not so much"...now they have to deal with the consequences.

This is the best book in the series so far. Some of the criticisms that I have read in other reviews, such as the trope of “Joe has a stupid idea that Skippy didn’t think of”, are different in this book. The author changes up the formula pretty well and keeps it interesting. The end of the book, the last third or so, is some of the best action I’ve ever read in a military sci-fi novel. I would definitely recommend that you check this book out especially if you’ve gone this far with the series.

all the characters are monochrome and similar in reaction and personality. save Skippy who is a carbon copy of Joe.

wish characters were better developed

This was by far the funniest of the series so far. The banter between Skippy and Joe had me almost needing to pull over at times I was laughing so hard. The story isn’t bad it just has gotten a little confusing with so much jumping around and the main goal not making a whole lot of sense or how their actions relate. Again none of that really matters because the book is so fun to listen to.

I’d be shocked if there is nothing (movie/tv) being worked on behind the scenes.

Not the Best Story of The Series, but....Trust The Awesomeness

I have totally enjoyed the series with its science-fiction, action and the definite comedy routine that goes on in it. But where it ended at the, next book had better be coming very quickly.

The next installment had better be soon

Hoping this is the last book about stopping people from toying to earth. looking forward to a new story line.
This is a good book but felt a bit like a hurry up filler book in the series. still Very worth it
