A worth while listen

Vinnie spends a majority of the book describing how he came to be a trainer and some of the pitfalls he's encountered in his life. There is only roughly 3 chapters on No Sugar, No Grains. Don't buy this if you want a diet book, it is however entertaining and insightful--a must read if you are entering the fitness industry.

Very inspiring and motivating

I loved this book! I felt so connected to the author Vinnie since he was reading it and would add little side notes that aren't included in the book. I felt like I got way more than my money's worth listening to the audio book. I feel inspired to do no sugar and no grains now and am on day 3 of that, and also to get up and move. This book came to me at the exact time I needed it. I was about to look into some diet pills :( but here I am feeling amazing 3 days later !! No pills, no sugar and no grain! I also feel like the back story to vinnie is inspiring. It really helps to show you this guy is the real deal, and he does what he does out of passion not for money and that is admirable. Now I just want to have a glass of scotch with vinnie since I feel so close with him. Lol. But I'll settle for his podcast. That's where I'm headed now! I can't get enough!! I can't wait to see what books he writes next !! Thank you vinnie !!

First Review

I don't often review things, but I found this book to be inspirational, motivational, and informative. Vinnie is an interesting character who has had an interesting life. Good stories. Excellent information. I would recommend this book all day everyday.

Best Decision I Ever Made

Reading this book was honestly the best decision I have ever made. This was the first step that lead to a much healthier lifestyle and has gotten me closer to my weight loss goal than I have ever been before, I'm almost there and going strong. Thank you Vinnie

Listened to it in in 2 days

Amazing book, very inspiring and entertaining. I listened to it in two sittings, it was great.

What did you love best about Fitness Confidential?

What I loved best about Fitness Confidential is...EVERYTHING! Yes, that is a pretty vague response, but due to the nature of the book, it is impossible to pick just one thing. It has insider hollywood stories, it has solid, to the point, NO BS fitness advice, it has true life stories of pain, grit, success, and the resilience of the human spirit.

What did you like best about this story?

This book, this message, this guy they call America's Angriest Trainer, has changed my life forever. One thing he shouts is: "Your good intentions have been stolen, and I'm here to help you get them back." We have been sold a bill of goods in the health and fitness industry that is led us to a very dark and scary place. We are fatter, lazier, and 10x's more spoiled now in history of mankind. He makes you challenge your thinking on why we have become this way. The residual effect of these many things has caused our health to decline in ways we probably never thought possible. We got complicated in the process to fix it. Take a pill here, do a cleanse there, buy this weird exercise equipment, etc. The answers are simple. Vinnie shows us how.

What does Vinnie Tortorich bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

You get what Vinnie calls, Lagniappe. Dean Lorey helped Vinnie express his life story and his technical expertise in a way that only master craftsman in the writing world can do. The audiobook allowed Vinnie to go off on tangents and side stories to his hearts content. Not appropriate in a book, but perfect for an audio version. You can certainly tell when he goes off script--and his fans LOVE this part of him. It is just who he is--and as others have said before me: to know him is to love him. You need to experience both mediums...one version is not complete without the other. Read the book and listen to the audiobook--you won't regret it!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

First of all, the audiobook is a whole different flavor than the written book. The book itself, in its written form, is amazing. The audiobook gives you Vinnie the storyteller, and in my opinion, the best part of this version. He ad-libs through-out the audio and it hilarious. You really need to get to know him a bit via his pod-cast to really understand where he is coming from and what his personality is. Those just listening to him for the first time on this audiobook may not understand my endearment- but I guarantee, by the end of the book, you will be a fan for life. Keep in mind, he is not a professional voice guy, he went kicking and screaming to do the audio of his book in his own voice--but his fans begged and pleaded that he did it--and it was 100% worth it!

Was not so much what I was expecting

What did you like best about Fitness Confidential? What did you like least?

Was not what was expecting. Is more about Vinnie personal history than something else. I am sure I just finished it because I was listening, otherwise, would have quit. There are some good messages, but is not about how to get fit and so on, you will to go thourgh the whole biography of the coach to understand the message. If this is not your point do not waste your time at this book.

Wildman

Vinnie is a Wildman. Overall felt like the book was entertaining. Some of the humor was pretty corny. Learned a few things, disagreed with a few opinions. Overall: I liked the book and was glad I listened to it.

Don’t Make The Same Mistake I Did

I bought this audiobook four years ago and just listened to it over the past 2.5 days. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Educational and very inspirational!
