Publisher's Summary

As night falls, Claire Roth flees, driven from her home by a fiery threat that seems to come from hell itself. Then, from out of the flames and ash, a vampire warrior emerges. He is Andreas Reichen, her onetime lover, now a stranger consumed by vengeance. Caught in the cross fire, Claire cannot escape his savage fury - or the hunger that plunges her into his world of eternal darkness and unending pleasure. Nothing will stop Andreas from destroying the vampire responsible for slaughtering his Breed brethren...even if he must use his former lover as a pawn in his deadly mission. Blood-bonded to his treacherous adversary, Claire can lead Andreas to the enemy he seeks, but it is a journey fraught with danger - and deep, unbidden desires. For Claire is the one woman Andreas should not crave and the only one he's ever loved. A dangerous seduction begins - one that blurs the lines between predator and prey, and stokes the flames of a white-hot passion that may consume all in its path.

Hot to Boiling!

I've been reading this series from book 1, and suggest others do likewise, as the series definitely needs to be read in order. We are introduced to Andreas, our hero, in previous books, when he was called upon to help "the order". I wasn't sure how he'd work as the hero of a book, as he wasn't actually a member of "the order". I had no idea about his special talent and apparently neither did anyone else.

In this book, he rekindles things with an old flame, and there are lots of complications. I'm usually not into "second time around" romances, but this book makes it work. The romantic tension is just right, the advancement of the back story to the series is action packed, and the ending is satisfying.

A great addition to the series.

These seem to be getting even better!

This is book 7 in the midnight breed series....and I liked this one very much! This is the story of Andreas Richen, and the mate he should have had. We last saw Andreas as he blew up his dark haven after finding everyone inside murdered and his human female lover turned into a minion! We pick up the story with him on a revenge mission, he WILL make those responsible pay! But does that extend to his sworn enemies mate... A woman who SHOULD have been his....but she is mated to another, an unbreakable blood bond, the highest law of the Breed... He can't act on his feelings now that he has found her.... Or can he?

Very fun! Great read! This series is Nothing like black dagger brotherhood so if you are holding back on reading this because you don't want to be ticked off by a rip off, it isn't! Go download now!

BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE YOU RILE ONE OF THE BREED!

When I was growin up, we had the AM radio with the weekly radio series. Whether it was
"Sky King", "Straight Arrow", "The Shadow" or "The Inner Sanctum", every week for a time we could loose ourselves in the stories. As I listen to one of the Night Breed stories, I have the same since of enjoyment. That's why I would recommend this audiobook to anyone
Andreau Rankin never stopped his love of the woman of his dreams, but ran away in an attempt to protect her, from what? This series is a favorite of mine and never fails to deliver fantastic adventure. Hillary Huber brings these stories to life with her superb performance and as always delivers a top shelf job.
I definately recommend this book and if you've not read them before, start at book one, because this will give you more insight into the utter humanity of each of the characters.

I absolutely despise how this is written

I wanted to like this story because I love the male lead. Several times I wanted to stop listening because I HATE how Claire’s character is written, but I don’t want to miss important elements for the next book! Do all the female leads have to be so impetuous, self-absorbed and foolish?

LOVE series but heroine is too STUPID To LIVE!

Any additional comments?

Story line of the series is still going strong, Hillary Huber is an awesome narrator, I LOVE all the characters that have been brought to this series UNTIL CLAIRE. I got to the point where every time she spoke, I had to scream what an idiot she was. It was that or stab myself in the ears. I have no patience for simpering, weak females that are suppose to be a focal character. She truly is too stupid to live. Poor Andraes, he deserved so much better.

poor narrator

The context of the Midnight breed series is fantastic but the narrator leaves much to be desired. Her voice is so flat and uninteresting it takes away from the storyline.

this was great!

like someone else said, I didn't peg andreas as a great "hero", but I was pleasantly surprised! he is actually super strong! my only gripe is, and has been the last few books, WHATS UP whered that SIZZLE from books 1 and 3 go???? ughhhh the love scenes were SCORTCHING in those 2 books! I am waiting for more of that! I want hard-core action AAAAND LOVIN'S!! I felt like this one in particular she skidded past all the details when it came to the sex scenes 😢 I'm hoping she brings back the PASSION in the next ones because the plot sure is heating up, but it has to valance each other out or else I start to get bored, and then I start skipping chapters... idk last I checked this was PNR, AND erotica!!

awesome

I've read some reviews that were critical of Claire's character. She wasn't stronger, feistier maybe sassy enough. That's not her way. Please remember she was a long time member of the Darkhaven society. That society doesn't favor those qualities. The Breedmate society in the Darkhavens is more in tune with Victorian views on a woman's role in society. Think if Elise's beginnings. As to the yap and chatter bout Andre and Claire's messing with the blood bond - please like there has never been any infidelity before! What would you do if you were bonded to someone like Wilhelm? I enjoyed this story. Andre & Claire don't come from the warrior background. They were " civilians". As to the ending it was excellent, so many ways for this to play out. I'm looking forward to the " one on one" chat that Dragos & his grandpa are going to have one of these days.

Pretty Good

The narration wasn’t the worst but definitely could be better! Most likely would’ve made the book better if the voices matched what the book portrayed🤷🏽‍♀️
