Feel Good Story

I liked all the characters (except one) and I loved the story line. This was a real feel good story and the narrator did a wonderful job. I totally enjoyed listening to this book & will look for others by this author.

Did not see the end coming

The narrator was very good, I really expected a different outcome. I felt sad for one character. The story kept me guessing all the way to the finish.

Good story, wimpy ending

This was a compelling story that held my interest throughout. However, the ending was less than satisfying. The supposedly brilliant bioengineer made a pretty stupid decision in the end. I kept waiting for a twist or an unexpected surprise at the end, however there was none. The accomplished woman rides off into the sunset with a lying, sneaky low life of a man. Disappointing!

Somewhat surprise ending

Fairly short read. I realized going in that the author, Leila Meacham, had passed three or four years before the book was published. Not sure if she completed the book or if it was finished by others.
Ending is somewhat of a surprise.

Vivid Characters and Superb Narration

A beautiful, vivid story with captivating descriptions—I loved the main and supporting characters. I was a little disappointed in the ending but glad it all worked out. The narration was superb, bringing the story to life. A wonderful listen from a talented author, whose work I’m glad to have discovered.

I enjoyed the narration. Was actually surprised by the ending. I usually can predict the endings. Overall good story.

Leila Meaham's final book April Storm was published posthumously. It is a suspenseful story that takes I read in one sitting. It is an enjoyable story, that grabbed my attention and carried me along.

The main character, Kathryn, is a likable and relatable woman. A wife and mother of young adults. As the book opens the reader is immediately thrown into a state or worry and curiosity because someone seems to be following Kathryn. Stalking her. And as she grows more frightened, so does the reader. I also found myself frustrated with her as she didn't appear to take things as seriously as she should. She made reactionary moves instead of actionary ones. On top of everything it looks as though her marriage might be in trouble, and after so many years together, Kathryn is shocked to think about a future that might not involve her husband.

The relationships are layered and realistic. I felt as though I had become friends with Kathryn, and that she was spilling all of her worries to me over coffee.

Enjoyable, quick read

I enjoyed the story and the characters in this book. After finishing, I immediately went to look for more books by this author. This was my first book I'd listened to by Leila Meacham

Disappointed in the romance novel ending

Loved the mystery even though I was ahead of much of it. It was solid except for the ending. The ending was a sappy finish after a well done mystery as if the author didn’t know what to do and simply fell back on romance rather than sticking to the mystery genre. It came across like a paste on. I hope she gives writing mystery stories another chance and figures out how mysteries can end.

Great characters written with depth and believability. Easy read and Page turner! Sad that is Leila’s last book.
