Not related to happiness

Imogen Church is always a sell point for me. Her narrations are a treat. The male narrator was good too. This story realistically portrays the shocking reality of a psychopath. Many points hit home with the struggle of being a parent.

JUST OK

I listened to the book on audible and have listened to LOTS of Imogene Church narration who I love. This book was a recommendation on the Psychological Thriller Readers Facebook Group. Honestly it just didn't hit well with me. At times it felt to over the board and fake. I even laughed at times at the over exaggeration of thoughts Fiona had about killing. Spoiler: She didn't even kill anyone but acted like she was a serial killer. There was a lot of potential here but it just fell flat for me. I listened to the whole book and the ending was blah. Not one of my faves.

Wow!

I never write reviews but WOW this book was so good! Not very twisty, but still had me hooked saying several times, “what a psychopath!” Of course Imogen Church is phenomenal as well. This will be a top 5 book for 2025 for me.

Phew. Loved every second of it. Devious. Thrilling. Loved the characters!! All of them!! Love the point of view of Fiona. Loved her list of three. So selfish. Only thinking about herself and her needs haha

Over the Top at Times

As I listened to this psychological thriller, the same phrase kept repeating in my head. . .this is soooo over the top. I was thinking that I was going to rate it a three possibly a 3.5 star book. BUT the ending is so not what I expected I had to go with a four. Rarely do endings side swipe me the way this one did!

Evil could live next door … or in your own house. This was a good listen. Fiona was creepy af.

Great performance by both narrators. Engaging story, well written and thought provoking. A little dark but realistic in this day and age. I recommend to other readers.
