The contents of Jason’s email, social media backups, pictures, and every bit of data she could find were loaded into the bot, and Katrina has “talked” to him every day for the past six months. She has been amazed at how well it works. Even the syntax and words the bot uses sound like Jason. Sometimes, she imagines he isn’t really dead and is right there beside her. She knows it’s slowing her grief recovery, but she can’t stop pretending.

On a particularly bad day, she taps out: Tell me something I don’t know. The cursor blinks for several moments and seems frozen before the reply flashes quickly onto the screen: I think I was murdered.

Distraught, Katrina returns to her cozy Norwegian-flavored hometown in the Northern California redwoods and enlists the help of Seb Wallace, local restaurateur and longtime acquaintance, to try to parse out the truth of what really happened. They must navigate the complicated paths of grief, family dynamics, and second chances, as well as the complex questions of how much control technology has. And staying alive long enough to do that is far more difficult than either of them dreamed.

Highly recommend!

I finished it in record time for me. The story kept me wanting to hear more of it, from beginning until the end. So well thought out and well written! I loved it. (I just bought the Blessings Jar children's book by,Colleen Coble, for my grandson .)

Hallmark Channel book

Don't be fooled by the Audible summary. This is a murder mystery from the Hallmark Channel. It's ok for what it is, and the narration was good. If that is what you are looking for, I recommend this book.

Loved it!

A very different story! I enjoyed it so much after several disappointing books. I will read more by this author/authors !

Great book, good twist

This was a good, clean read. I loved that she respected God In the book and that meant a lot to me. I will follow them from now on.

Good story but maybe not for guys.

Don’t get me wrong this is a good story. Just too much of a woman’s slant for me.

Interesting subject

It was refreshing to find a story that had a unique premise, AI. Reading this book was a nice experience.

Loved the Story

I enjoyed listening from the beginning through the end. Hesitated to get this book when read it included AI, but enjoyed even the AI. Please don’t miss this one especially if you enjoy Colleen Coble.

Predictable :(

Too cliche and cheesy dialogue. It was way too obvious by the first half who had done it!

Intriguing

It is different than books I normally read but kept my interest throughout the book. Narration was great as well. I enjoyed it!

Suspenseful with some good twists

This novel had a pretty unique story and was well written, with good character development. A few red herrings throw you off the lead when trying to figure out the mystery of who the killer is but it’s still fun. My only complaint is that sprinkled throughout the story are a few conversations about god’s role in their life and other religious discussion; I guess it’s authentic to who these characters are supposed to be, but it still seems preachy at times to a reader who is not religious. Otherwise, an exciting read.
