Publisher's summary

The apocalypse is here!

After the world changed and aliens started hunting down humans, only a small group of survivors remain. But the alien invasion is just getting started! Now our heroes must learn to work with the AI and nanotech provided by Lucy to grow stronger.

The seeders and other monsters they encountered so far were just the first wave. Now the real aliens are going to arrive to claim parts of earth. Brad, Jake, and Sam must level up if they are going to survive the second wave!

Apocalypse Online is a LitRPG/GameLit post-apocalypse fantasy series filled with action, adventure, aliens and snarky AIs.

If you are a fan of System Apocalypse, Defiance of the Fall, or the Sun Shadow series, you'll love Apocalypse Online!

give it a chance

The speed at which things happen in the book I would consider good. it's got violence, it's got drama, it's not fantasy races, and it even got base building.

realism.

what I liked about this was the writers ability to engage the listener to the story. being seen from multiple view points allows the listener to become attached to multiple characters. amazed at how the writer can take multiple angles of the story and sow together a wondrous world full of suspense and comedy.

Soft Guild Leader

I want to scream spoilers, but I'll keep my mouth shut. Let me just say you can kill those you love by being noble to your enemies. Also, something to be said about too young to lead and not enough experience to know who your enemies are. I know this book is litrpg, but why make it all about kids who play games then become the heroes? This book is also a post-apocalyptic story. If the world had gone down this path, you would still need the expertise of military men and some diplomats who could pave a path of war and negotiate with our Allies and set the terms for the defeat of their Enemies. Maybe it's just me. I know fantasy is a leap, but it still needs to be mixed with some common sense. The story is still a good one. I'm just hoping it does not continue down a path of incredulity, even for a fantasy book.

Stop forgetting about normal medical practice.

When Heather died, it was only seconds that her heart stopped. If they could heal the body damage, why not try cpr... I mean, if these are survivalist that is basic knowledge.

Good book and interesting approach

Updated. The last 2 chapters killed the entire series for me. Brad is such a Sack less Beta MC cuck boy loser, idiot. He's a moron and acts confused as to why Karen is such an overwhelming bit$%. What a giant walking puss.

it's a more grueling approach to how a world would look with a system or rpg like aspects. You have to grind for every bit of your exp and you don't become a monster overnight through titles and Stat bonuses. One issue is that they fail to loot their kills, especially the aliens with better weapons and gear. Another that seems to be a constant with most of these litrpg series is the inability for the MCs to understand that humans can be monsters too. The most obvious threats go overlooked due to this fake human connection that didn't exist before the apocalypse. Human beings did not change all of a sudden because you feel the need to do right by humanity and that thinking ends up getting more people killed than the supposed alien threat. The blind allegiance is stupid and the most annoying part to any series. If someone tries to kills you, your response shouldn't be "this most have been an accident because of the circumstances...etc" stop making excuses for assholes!!

New character named Jo

This is so irresponsible... A preteen little girl who builds explosives... its like giving a five year old a loaded pistol. No respect for the weapon or skill , no maturity at all... she just likes 'explodie things' never thinking of collateral damage. Sorry... I liked this concept but I can not be with this new story thread.

Like the story, hate one of the main MCs

Spoiler!
I’m usually very forgiving, but this is a book with multiple MCs, one of the younger ones continues to get people killed. It’d be fine but if feels like the author tries to justify the characters actions. Like one second she goes all out to save people and the next second she literally drives multiple vehicles thru a crowd and just hopes it doesn’t hit her people… who are literally in a hand to hand combat with the enemy. Maybe she’s supposed to suck, I don’t know, but there’s a whole string events leading up to this choice that don’t make sense and hurt a bunch of people. Seems like the end of the world would make you value human life🤷‍♂️
