In all the games Matt has played, dungeons are places to raid, places you dream of conquering, but when the world is stripped of electricity, and the first mana-twisted beasts start to prowl, the games all come to an end....

Matt's just an ordinary guy, but when he's beaten, robbed, and left for dead, bleeding out at the bottom of a gully, it all has to change as he grasps frantically at his only chance for survival, coming as it does in the form of a glowing, dangerously pulsing light.

With his reality forever altered, Matt must quickly find a suitable place to deploy the Dungeon Core, fighting his way through the hundreds of people between him and safety, because if he doesn't do it soon, a Core Detonation will solve all of his problems for him....permanently.

Welcome to the New World.

Great start to this series.
Good choice of narrator on this one. Eagerly awaiting book 2.

Loved it.

I'm getting to a point where taking chances on other fantasy litrpg sci-fi books is a waste of money. They're either PG-13 (yuck and boo), boring or just pulling from classic stories and/or movies which is just lazy and irritating.

But after being disappointed with other highly rated authors/stories, I tried this one and I LOVE IT!. Where I thought it would be the same ole story, it wasn't. The story went in a different direction than most and has a different purpose for a lot of things/characters/monsters/dungeons than what I'm used to "reading".

Neil Hellegers is one of the few narrators that reads like he is the characters living the story real time not like he's reading a story to/at the audience. He's one of my favorites and I only have 2 (Nick Podehl).

I don't want to give away too much because to avoid ruining it for anyone else.
My top stories (Ugland and Dinniman are tied for #1), Those are the types of stories i prefer if that helps anyone get a better idea of my preferences: and this story is added to the list. Can't wait to see where it goes.
- Eric Ugland (Good and Bad Guy Series)
- Matt Matt Dinniman (Dungeon Crawler Carl)
- Simon Archer (I'm the Bad Guy)
- Aleron Kong (Chaos Seeds)
- Nnedi Okorafor (Who Fears Death),
- Kel Kade (Fate of the Fallen)

Love it! Didn't Go Where I Thought It Would

Hands down one of the best real world apocalyptic LitRPGs, if not the best, that I’ve heard, and I have over 700 titles in my library.

If you like the genre get it, no question. If you want to try out the genre than it’s a good place to start.

I won’t spoil anything about the story other than it takes place in Newcastle

Neil Hellegers does a superb job with the narration, as always.

Mr. Cajiao, you have quickly become one of my favorites. Keep the books coming!

More than worth the credit
