Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Nalini Singh returns to her breathtaking Psy-Changeling Trinity series with a mating that shouldn't exist...

Alpha wolf Selenka Durev's devotion to her pack is equaled only by her anger at anyone who would harm those under her care. That currently includes the empaths who've flowed into her city for a symposium that is a security nightmare, a powder keg just waiting for a match.

Ethan Night is an Arrow who isn't an Arrow. Numb and disengaged from the world, he's loyal only to himself. Assigned as part of the security force at a world-first symposium, he carries a dark agenda tied to the power-hungry and murderous Consortium. Then violence erupts and Ethan finds himself crashing into the heart and soul of an alpha wolf.

Mating at first sight is a myth, a fairy tale. Yet Selenka's wolf is resolute: Ethan Night, broken Arrow and a man capable of obsessive devotion, is the mate it has chosen. Even if the mating bond is full of static and not quite as it should be. Because Selenka's new mate has a terrible secret, his mind surging with a power that is a creature of madness and death...

Contains mature themes.

This is one of my faves

I have listened to this one multiple times - I love the different storyline - the instant mating - and then they have to learn. It also shows how much the Arrows had to go through and how amazingly resilient they are. Totally worth the read :)

This is a pivotal story! DO NOT MISS!

So, let me by first starting off saying that I love this series. Not just the Trinity series but the WHOLE series, Psy-Changeling. When I was first introduced, I was happy that someone came up with a wonderful new idea of paranormal. As I dived deeper into this world, I became connected to all the characters. For a writer to have a reader so invested as though the characters are part of one’s own family is amazing.

When it was announced that Selenka, the Wolf Alpha, that we met in Silver Silence was getting her own book I was a bit confused but excited. I was confused only because the previous book, Wolf Rain, left off. I thought we were going to be seeing more of the Empaths camp. I was excited because we are going back to Russia and we might be seeing Silver and the bears. I am doing not know who this new character was, but I should have never thought there was going to be anything but magic when Nalini Singh decides to tell a story in this series.

When we are introduced to Selenka and Ethan it was instance chemistry. Over the course of the series we have seen chemistry but nothing to this magnitude. They matted within an hour of the audiobook. At that moment I knew that this was going to be a great book. I enjoyed the way that they interacted with one another. There were no secrets between the two of them. There was no dancing around and we got to see Ethan become a wonder character to this series. I loved the interact he had with the Arrows and with Selenka's wolves.

This story revealed a lot about what is happening to the net and more about the Architect. We knew that she was a woman but now we know that her power is increasing, and she is doing things that might destroy the Psy race. This book is pivotal. There was so much exposed and yet so many questions that need to be answered. If this book needed to be written. It also lets us know how the net is responding to everything. I am looking forward to the next book and I wonder who the main characters will be. I hope that it will be Patient Zero, Pax Marshall.

I am very happy that Angela Dawe narrated this story. She does such a wonder job.

New psi-changling pair with ties to others

A new chapter in the story of the PsiNet, this story centers around the Arrow Ethan Knight and Alpha wolf Selenka. As another child victim of Ming LaVon’s , he is dealing with mental head pressure while she, as Alpha of the strongest Russian wolf pack, has her own issues beyond the usual tensions running a large pack, such as the murder of a friend, finding a traitor, dealing with an an attempted take over by an outside wolf cult, and having a verbally abusive father. Her wolf decides to complicate her life further when the wolf recognizes her mate, decides to skip the mating dance, and just go for the bond. Ethan is clueless and looking for kindness so he doesn’t know what hits him but is attracted and easily accepting of his new feelings. It should be a big clue as they they work thru their problems throughout the story. His hopeless head ache/ condition is not surprisingly a boon in the long run. In the end they become another pair that are interwoven into the greater narrative but Ethan seems to have an important potential role in a future story. Selenka also may have a place assisting Hawk in Ming’s destruction. I kept hoping Judd would show up to give Ethan some pointers but Aiden was his main assistance. Several new characters with the wolves and a bit more information on some of the Arrows.

Love the idea of the man being the virgin.

Ethan has a lot to learn and he gets the perfect teacher. And a lot of new friends in the mix to help them both. Add a murder and a mystery and you get a good read. Really enjoyed the book, so much I actually read it in one sitting.

Not So Broken

Ethan thinks he is broken and found mad but a bit so chance meeting with Selenka, Alpha wolf of the Blackedge Pack, leads to a fairy tale instant mating. Now Ethan has something to fight the madness for and he won't give up so easily. Not expecting or wanting a mate, Selenka quickly adjust to her instant mating with sexy Arrow, Ethan. But trouble comes to her pack and she finds that she needs Ethan more than she thought. This book is exciting, sexy, emotional and very intense. I loved every minute of it. Great Performance by Angela Dawe.

Excellent story and better narrator

Excellent story. I can say enough about the narrator, Angela Dawn. The way she does all of the voices and accents as well as the languages is amazing.
