INTELLIGENT AND EROTIC

It was so refreshing to read about intelligent leads. I loved the expression, vocabulary and intelligent (not just witty) conversations and banter between Dominic Knight & Kate Hart. Dominic is a self-made billionaire and master of his universe, that being a global tech empire. He is a man who always gets what he wants and does not accept "no" as an answer from anyone. And, with Kate, he is relentless but smoothly so, and let me say, I love a powerful man in pursuit! I was also happy to find such a strong heroine in Kate, who has these mad skills in cyber-forensic accounting. The description of her work in her perspective was actually enthralling, as she described her work as giving her an adrenaline rush. Perhaps, that is how she connects with Dominic, as they both are thrill seekers.

This author is really good and I enjoyed her style of writing. It's written with an omniscient narrator which reminded me of Tolstoy's style of writing in Anna Karenina. It was interesting to get the perspective of surrounding characters, especially in Dominic's life, showcasing how different his pursuit of Kate was. Initially, Kate was largely aversive to Dominic's domineering approach, but you got to see Dominic soften and bend to win Kate over, and win her over he did!--At least in the bedroom. For that reason, there is a lot of sex. The plot builds mainly around two strong personalities trying to meld together.

The only time this book got tedious was when Dominic and Kate were moving from "vanilla" to "kinky" in the bedroom. Kate was almost ridiculous in her argumentative nature toward Dominic. It was actually tiring because she had this green light/red light thing going on with Dominic. It was "yes," then it was "no"--her signals were all screwed up. It was almost manipulative on her part. Anyhow, as seems to be the pattern in trilogies, this one doesn't end well. So it's on to the next book to find out how Dominic is going to get Kate back!

Regarding the narrator, Elena Wolfe, she performed masterfully. I loved her sweet voice for Kate, and she did a good job with the masculine voices, as well.

Instant Love

Katherine "Kate" Hart is a 22 year old MIT graduate. She is a forensic accountant and an IT guru. She has mad skills and is extremely intelligent. Kate is feisty, driven, focused, can be a bit selfish/self-centered and at times argumentative. She grew up in a happy loving home, has not major hang ups, not body image issues.

Dominic is a 32 year old widower billionaire. He owns several corporations and is also very intelligent. He is a BDSM playboy, though that lifestyle doesn't show up much in this trilogy. Dominic is single minded, focused, driven, initially a bit shallow and self-focused. His childhood was affluent but emotionally painful. He doesn't always listen and is emotionally distant.

This book is the first in a trilogy, it is not meant to be a stand alone and ends in a cliffhanger. Don't get it thinking you will be able to stop after just 1.

I enjoyed this series greatly. The narrator was excellent. The language and editing used were first rate. The story grabbed me and sucked me in from the beginning. I definitely recommend it!

HEAD HOPPING galore

Any additional comments?

HEAD HOPPING galore!! So much it made me DiZzY and CoNfUsEd. You never knew who's head you were in. It wasn't just between the two main characters but minor characters as well. It made this book unenjoyable to listen to. Isn't that one of the basic, fundamental rules of writing a novel? The story was okay, nothing new.

just ok

I struggled to read this at first and then it got a little better. even though they didn't know each other long they didn't really go out to eat or interact much with others. I found that part to be a bit boring. I liked the chemistry of the main characters though. I like the narration. I don't think I will be ordering the second book though.

A BIT FRUSTRATING, BUT GOOD NONETHELESS

Would you listen to All He Wants again? Why?

NO. I enjoyed this book and the entire series, however, despite not wanting to stop listening and wanting to move on to the next book to "see what happens" the storyline was a bit predictable and there have only been a couple of books out of hundreds of audible books that I've listened to more than once. (I don't like watching movies I've previously seen either).

What did you like best about this story?

It kept me wanting to find out what was next for Katherine & Dominic.

What does Elena Wolfe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought she was a great performer. I never felt like she was just "reading" the story but I found myself immersed in it in a way only a good performer can do. I also liked her voice for Dominic. At first I thought it was not masculine enough, but quickly got used to it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not sure

Any additional comments?

Yes. In other reviews there were negative comments regarding Kate's immaturity. Come on folks, she's 22 in this series. Weren't we all a bit immature at that age. Also, there was 10 years difference between she and Dominic and the lack of worldliness was emphasized to contrast with Dominic's world class escapades, physical, mental & sexual. Yep, there were a couple of times I wanted to say "come one Kate - grow up", but if she had been "grown-up", sensible, mature, then there would not have been the stark contrast between H/H.

Kate and Dominic, A Love Story To end All.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to friends, family even enemies.

What was one of the most memorable moments of All He Wants?

There are too many moments to single out just one. However, their moments in letter form as well as e-mail were touching and telling.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really did not laugh at any time during this book. It is not that I did have many reactions, I was excited most of the book, as well as hopeful, and mad at times. In the end I was a crying idiot, what a story.

Any additional comments?

Well worth 3 credits I am so glad it finally came out on audible.

Not for me

Any additional comments?

Many times I was tempted to not finish this, and did stop for a while, but I paid for the audiobook and didn’t want to waste the money so I finally finished listening. And let me just say, I very rarely leave a bad review. If I don’t like a book I just don’t review it, but I just couldn’t stay silent on this series.

As far as the narrator, she did an excellent job with what she had to work with. Kudos to her on the pronunciation of all those fancy-schmacy words!

What I listened to was a story of two self-centered, dysfunctional characters. Both were irritating. They argued pre-sex, during sex (which was really frustrating) and the arguing continued after sex. Sometimes they argued over nothing at all and I was left wondering what the hell was that? The heroine was written like a mindless nympho at times, however she was supposed to be a small town girl brainy MIT graduate, who, before meeting the hero had very little sex with her past two partners and didn’t orgasm, to boom! Coming, and coming, and dripping, and dripping, and begging like a cat in heat along with whining and being greedy for her own pleasure to the point it became nauseating. The extremely rich hero of course, had been with scores of women and was portrayed as a sexpert at getting women off. A handsome rich man with a bad childhood, incapable of love character that is becoming so much of a cliché in romance novels these days. He was beyond an ass at times, mean and just because he had a big D**k and big bank account and knew how to use them, didn’t make him appealing. As far as the two of them as a couple, like I said. Dysfunctional. If they weren’t pissed off and arguing, they were loving and sweet-talking, can’t live without the other, overly possessive, then boom! Arguing and saying horrible things to each other. It gave me whiplash. Then there was head-hopping, head-hopping, and more head-hopping. Not only between the H/h but the secondary characters as well. And the formality of the writing was way over-the-top with a crap-ton of words very few people actually use in their everyday vocabulary. Can you say, thesaurus, thesaurus, thesaurus! Pretentious, pretentious, pretentious! This in itself became distracting because I was jarred from the story trying to translate what was being said into everyday lingo. And what small town American girl who has been raised without the privileges of the worldly jet-setting wealthy would think, talk or even know all those highfaluting words, let alone all the proper designer names of designer clothing, priceless antiques, the freaking architectural styles of all the many homes, apartments, offices, names of cars, boats, jets, etc.

I’m sorry, but there were too many issues with this series for me.

Good Narration, Sexy story but a bit Confusing

I really did like this book but on several
Occasions I found myself scrolling back to listen again because I felt that I must have missed something. There were a lot of these moments especially during conversations between the main characters. The topic and mood would flip so suddenly that I was lost. Kate was happy, sad, mad and I didn't understand why her mood had changed. To me she came
Across as a bit bratty because of this. It was the one downside of an overall enjoyable romantic erotic
Book.
