Sequel to The Consumption of Magic

Nearly a year ago, blinded by grief and betrayal, Sam of Wilds made a desperate decision to follow the Great White into the Dark Woods. Now, he emerges to a world changed.

The City of Lockes is a prison. The King has been locked away in the dungeons. The Kingdom of Verania has fallen, and the Dark wizard Myrin sits on the throne.

But soon after his return, Sam learns of a resistance fighting in his name, led by a courageous knight, a defiant prince, a pissed-off unicorn, and a half-giant who wants to smash everything in sight. If he has any hope of defeating the villains who have taken their home, Sam must face the consequences of his choices - and the friends he left behind.

When dreams come true

This is the final chapter in Sam's voice. If you don't know who Sam is you have to start at the beginning.
1. The Lightening Struck Heart
2. Destiny of Dragons
3.Consumption of Magic
4 . Wish Upon the Stars
Tj writing is brilliant and Michael's narration is excellent and adds layers of enjoyment to the story. I highly recommend this audio book series

One of the best series ever. Seriously.

This is one of the best series I have ever read, and certainly one of the best narrations I have ever heard. The books are clever and funny. and from the start of the first book, The Lightning Struck Heart, I was immediately invested in the characters and their stories. The books are also tragic and heart wrenching and every other thing a story needs to be satisfying. Michael Lesley is an incredible narrator who truly gives each of the characters a unique voice.

Heart Boners!!

It's over!!! So sad, was a great book, narration was amazing like always..
This book gives me a feeling of loss, knowing it was the last, as this series was absolutely amazing and do not wish it to be over.

Thanks Gurl!

I'm struggling on how to open this. I want to open with a strong "BI**H! ARE YOU SERIOUS?" then drone on about all the ways this book dragged me through the proverbial "feels" and angered me at the TMI sex scenes. You can't be telling our gay business like that TJ! GURL! GAY CODE!! SHHHHHH!!! Secrets gurl... (I capitalized that sh*t) However, that may be off-putting to the masses of straight Klune hopefuls drooling over his too cute face. Gods know I don't want to spoil their dreams. Then maybe I should open with the ever so standard pros vs cons of the story but, that always leaves such a sour taste like your man after a hard day's work...

Mother Cracker! I just don't know how to write this except, it's NSFW, the story has heart wrenching plot twists, and made me cry from sadness and "heart boners". LOL. READ IT!! ...errr LISTEN TO IT!! You won't be disappointed.

Definite FAVORITE! A++

This final book did not disappoint. Everything about this series is just so excellently done.

I read the other three books in the series via audiobook, but for this final book, I couldn't listen to it fast enough so switched between the audio and print book.

I have loved this series, but this final book was perfection. So, so, so good. TJ Klune is just one of the best story-tellers around and he's found the perfect narrator in Michael Lesley for this series. The characters are everything and the two partner to bring them to glorious life.

I've LOVED this series and highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it. But you have to read all four books. This is NOT a book that will stand on it's own.

Read the series...it's ridiculous and funny and is beyond anything I've ever read. But at the same time, it's heartfelt, sweet, and so romantic. Ryan and Sam...gah, I cannot love them anymore. In fact, there are so many characters in these books that I simply want to know in real life. I laughed out loud so many times and sobbed out loud a couple times, too. This series is just everything.

And I highly recommend it on audio. Michael Lesley is KING OF NARRATORS!!

Cheesy Dx are for everyone

“You capitalized that, didn’t you.”
After the long and aimless middle books, this book wraps the series arc pretty well. There’s still way too much talking, monologue-ing, thinking, feeling, and perving between Sam and Ryan.
And talking. So much talking.

“Cheesy Dx are for everyone.”
The hyperbolic sound effects, especially the snorting and the mic-thumps, are still overdone.
The supporting characters are still underutilized. Does Ryan ever use his sword? Tiggy ever smash?
Gary ever, um, unicorn? And after three books of gathering dragons, where’s the epic Dragons Assemble fight scene? Worse dragon-ck-blocking since GoT.

“Hell hath no fury like a thieving nun scorned.”
But, the annoyances are balanced by the story, and all the characters, finally coming together.
The Solid Gold Cheesy Hits from throughout the series get revisited, mostly to great effect.

So sad it's over :( Michael Lesley is spectacular!

From the highest highs to the depths of despair, TJ Klune’s Tales From Verania flew me there and back again, and again, and again… I don’t think another series will ever capture my heart quite like this one has, and I’m so sad it’s over.

The spectacular fourth and final episode, A Wish Upon the Stars, is everything I’d hoped for. Mr. Klune delivers love, humor, friendship, and yet in spite of some tense moments (and a wee bit of angst) I’d do it all over again in a lightning-struck heartbeat.

If you’ve been thinking of starting this phenomenal read in order series, I’m just going to say it straight up: read if you must, but audio is the way to go! Michael Lesley’s stellar performance brings this tale to life. Honestly, it’s like listening to a Broadway show.

There’s an incredible variety of unique and wondrous characters in this collection and Michael Lesley creates a distinct voice for each personality. I’m sure narrating this story would be exhausting, yet he infuses every line with emotion, and maintains it for over 70 hours! His performance is awe-inspiring.

As much as I loved A Wish Upon the Stars, saying goodbye is doubly bittersweet. I’m going to miss the camaraderie of Sam’s band of misfits, the devoted guidance of his wizards, and the passion of true love (HaveHeart 4 life!). I’m also going to miss Michael Lesley crooning in my ear. If you haven’t started this incredible journey then get the show on the road with The Lightning-Struck Heart, and by all means... do it in audio!

Michael Leslie is a Storytelling Master

This is an outstanding book (and series). Michael Leslie's incredible talent is the perfect pairing for TJ Klune's Tales of Verania series. He gave me goosebumps. Literally. Made me laugh, and sob. The villian's voice is bone chilling, yet seductive. Amazing.

Amazing!!

I loved this story but I would expect anything less from TJ Klune. He spins a great tale that keeps you engaged all the way through. But then to hear the story!! Michael Lesley does an amazing job with soooo many voices, sounds and yes even a song. The voices are so distinct you know who is talking. The emotions are felt. This is just an amazing performance and a definite recommend to all.
