He would protect her from anything. Even herself.

Lord Jonathon Beckett’s mission is simple: retrieve Lady Hannah and place her under the protection of the Crown. But he isn’t prepared for the havoc she inflicts on his world, making him question whether his duty as an agent of the Crown should always come before his heart.

Lady Hannah's father has uncovered evidence exposing a French traitor to the Crown. Willing to do anything to silence him, the traitor's primary target has become Lady Hannah. Keeping her safe means locking her away from Society, but she refuses to stand idly by, letting others put their lives on the line to protect her. Instead, she will stop at nothing to learn to defend herself, even at the risk of losing Lord Jonathon’s protection, or his affections.

With a sinister scheme in play to collapse the English government from within, Lord Jonathon must protect Lady Hannah from the French spies intending to use her as a pawn in their game of treachery. But can he protect her from herself?

AI narration is very unsatisfactory

I couldn’t get past Chapter 5 because of the AI narration. I feel bad for authors who have their efforts degraded in this way. Please, Audible, don’t continue using AI.

Hate virtual voice!

I love this series. I initially read it on Kindle a couple of years ago, and wanted to get audio versions, and was bummed to find audio was not available. I occasionally check and was excited to see the series is FINALLY available in audio format. Unfortunately, it’s disappointing that it’s narrated by virtual voice. I still love the book and characters, but this series could be so much better with a great narrator. There is a lot of affection and banter between all of the characters throughout the series, and the virtual voice really does not do it justice. I’ve enjoyed revisiting the series, but would never recommend these audio books as great finds, solely because of virtual voice. I would absolutely rather pay for an actual narrator than get these free with virtual voice.

Fantastic Sequel outshines mediocre AI

This is book 2 in the series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot throws a few curve balls, that I never would have expected. The setup for final damsel-in-distress scene was forced, but it was still a super good book. I would totally listen to it again if they got a talented narrator to re-record it. The AI is flat but not totally robotic, the story line engages me enough that I will move forward with the next book in the series.
