Could have been wonderful

Performance was lovely. Most of the characters are good and likable. Main character is the reason I almost gave up multiple times. Finish so I could continue with hopefully a better second book.

If only men like Hollen really existed (sigh)

If only men in real life could simultaneously be as virile, masculine, beautiful, restrained, devoted and noble as Hollen! I definitely loved the slow burn and the push/pull of Hollen and Jocelyn’s story.

So many authors try to write in this fantasy/romance genre and do it very poorly, but Denali Day does it beautifully.

With this book I never found myself cringing! The world building is great and really engaged me, the plot had enough excitement, drama and character development to keep me interested the whole way through and she also managed to make the love story simmering HOT without turning it into smut, which I so appreciated!

And Shane East was the perfect voice for this story! His accents and intonations for the Dokiri were great and very “rugged” and he didn’t make the female voices completely shrill and annoying the way some male narrators do. Bravo!

Also loved the included novella, the first book Sven the collector. Much shorter but also very enjoyable and good backstory on the history between Hollen’s mother and father ❤️

Whiny Little Idiot Girl!

Great story! The main female character makes me want to just slap her. She is a whiny, head strong, condescending brat! I am halfway through but I will finish the book. That awful woman though, is on my last nerve!!
