Acerca de esta escucha

The Wandering Inn, Book 1, has been rewritten by pirateaba and re-recorded by Andrea Parsneau. This revised edition includes new scenes and perspectives.

"No killing Goblins."

So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours.

It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

In a dangerous world where magic is real and people can level up and gain classes, Erin Solstice must battle somewhat evil Goblins, deadly Rock Crabs, and hungry [Necromancers]. She is no warrior, no mage. Erin Solstice runs an inn. She's an [Innkeeper].

It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. At first this story, seemed like it was slow. But it didn’t take long for it to grab me and pull me in. I could’ve wait to the next chapter. Loved it. When is the second volume gonna be on audible?

A surprise

I loved the book it wasn't hard to get into the 43 hrs flew by. I want volume 2. The production company did a wonderful job, reading the book might have been a little confusing, but how audio book was produced no worries there.

Wonderfully Different

A bit silly at times. Tries to hard for overwhelming moments especially during battles. However it does develop strength during the course of the book to the point where I will probably buy the next in the series where it is available. Please however, please try to reduce the tears the characters shed. Also, the psychosis of the runner is a bit extreme.

I rate this book a 4/5, but the rest of the series up through book 4 is a 5/5 for sure.

I read a LOT of reviews for this series before I decided to use a credit on it. As an adult female reader, I hold a lot of preference for complex, realistic, and competent female leads. There were a LOT of complaints about the MC being whiney and wimpy and weak. And in this book- she is. She cries about getting hurt and hurting others and bemoans her life quite a darn bit. But I implore you to give her, and this series, a chance. She grows. She becomes someone unique and amazing and inspiring. ALL of the characters GROW. They develop independently and then with one another. Think Naruto rather than Ainz Ooal Gown. No one is very powerful in episode one- even kinda annoying- but gosh darn are you rooting and cheering for them as they make their breakthroughs.

You aren't going to find a harem or an overwhelmingly overpowered MC like most isekai entries. There is next to no romance at all. But there is magic and a world of fantastic creatures and horrific battles. There are unique characters of every gender and race from all kinds of backgrounds.

This series is magic, and I am so extremely pleased I gave this series a chance.

Looking back from Book 4...

this story and the voice actor were amazing and did not disappoint. I can't wait to hear more.

best story in a long time

I loved the main character and her struggle to find a place for herself in this strange new world. It was refreshing to have a MC who is not the strong superhero type but who somehow manages despite being smaller and weaker than the people around her. She felt believable.
45 hours went by way to fast

Cannot wait for volume 2

Ugh ... only 16 hours in and I totally understand why humans get such a bad wrap in their world. They are constantly bitching, whining, or telling everyone around them off. The narrator does a great job capturing their self-centered snobby snarky-ness. It’s difficult to care about the story when you can’t stand the main characters. I listen to audible to get a reprieve from the whining ... I’m not sure I’ll be able to endure another 27 hours of this.

Humans suck

I thought the narrator was great. I don’t know how she does so many different voices. The book was unnecessarily long. Tons of dull fluff. Some of the characters seem pretty dense. Overall it was decent, the length is the biggest issue. Something to do when there’s nothing to do.

43 hours but could have been 8

The world was good. Most of it was good. But the emotional struggle parts are so long and drawn out it’s hard to get through.

I hate your emotional overload chapters.
