Welcome to Kodiak Point, where the wildlife might wear clothes, but animal instinct rules the heart.

Includes previously released titles:

Kodiak's Claim: Hands full taking care of his clan, the last thing this Kodiak bear needs is a woman poking her cute little nose into his affairs. But when she refuses to back down - and shows the courage to stand up to him - he can't resist the allure of a curvy city girl.

Outfoxed by Love: A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying no, but a determined vixen knows he's her mate. Jan has not had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger.

Polar Bared: When Vicky accidentally slides into the side of a polar bear, she doesn't expect to fall in love. Eaten yes, perhaps used as a chew toy, but become the object of a bear's affection and lust? Crazy! Almost as crazy as the fact the polar bear turns out to be a man who growls, and roars.

Contains mature themes.

“No eating people: the first rule shifters learned, right after don’t lick the outlet.”
This was just the way I like my paranormal romance: light, fast paced and with a good bit of cheek, figuratively and literally. The nooky is naughty without being crass, with a couple scenes in each book.

“Big, so big!”
Yes, there are some eye roll moments, but that’s par for the paranormal course, don’t you think? I also find the narrator on the dry and, er, well-measured side. By this I mean she enunciates well and evenly, purposefully lays out every syllable when the situation could really use more exuberance (except for words with hard ‘T’s in the middle, which tend to disappear (button becomes buh-un, for example).
A narrator like Lloyd Mason would have been fantastic doing the growls and the inner beast utterances of “mine,” perhaps in duet format with Ms. Skyye, who is still three stars pretty good for me.

Him: “You are the most irritating-“
Her: “Ly beautiful-“
Him: “annoying-“
Her: “yet utterly captivating-“
Him: “woman I’ve ever known.”
Three books with each man growlier than the one before. Three feisty ladies with unique personalities (quippy investigator, clever and highly armed hometown girl, and adorkably clumsy geek). Three stories that could stand alone but overlap and build on a series arc involving a mysterious villain who remains a mystery at the end of book 3. Just as well to read them in order since there’s no Table of Contents
(books 2 and 3 start at chapters 30 and 53).

“Apparently, someone didn’t get the memo on not pissing Gene off.”
My favorite was book 3, perhaps because between the fluff and stuff there’s some deeper arcs about Gene’s redemption and Vicky rising above domestic abuse. It’s all on the mild side, but listeners should be prepared for treatment of PTSD, POWs and death by gunfire and by beast in each book. There are also a fair number of F bombs, especially in book 3. I would drop a credit right now if the next three books were available in a collection. Individually, however, they are short, so I’ll wait for them to go on sale.

Shifter romance + comic book violence

Other than the fact that the third heroine sounds like Minnie Mouse, this was a great collection of stories. I’m not usually interested in shifters other than wolves… but these were… relatable (?)… Two thumbs up!

Fun!
