a delightful find

this book had me wondering if I'd like it- a rif on a D&D world.

the hero is a thief in the 21st century, with a weakness to help those in trouble -- which oddly earns him a place in a strange world as a D&D character. A place of adventure, magic with real life consequences. with an unusual mixture of luck and ingenuity he succeeds in surviving- and well but for how long?

it's awesome world building, character development, and craziness of monsters, politics, and pit cleaning (read to understand)

well written and the audio is fabulous!!!! so glad I found this gem!!

Don’t Let the Cover Art Fool You

Look, the cover art is lame. So is the title.

Despite that, this is is actually a great modern take on the rogue archetype, especially for a LitRPG. The world is great, the characters are interesting, the MC I relatable. Scott Lynch does it better, but discounting him, this is probably the best iteration of a rogue thief character perspective that I’ve read, and certainly the best version of that in a LitRPG

nerdy, funny,ironic honestly I hated when it was over. I'll be reading the rest for sure.

Best audiobook I have listened to in a long time!

absolutely adored this book, the narrator was amazing as always and the story was absolutely phenomenal. 10/10 I will definitely be getting the next book!
